Online League Options

Post by alinkens »

I have been a long time watcher of Puresim, I have been in the OOTP world since V4. I did purchase an older version of Puresim but it could not pull me away from OOTP. The latest version of OOTP (OOTP2006) destroyed the franchise in my opinion, I play the game in online leagues ONLY where we play each game and send a game export file back to the commissioner who imports them from each human controlled team and then sims the computer games and sends out the next zip.

In OOTP2006 this is no longer an option, now you can only play in online leagues where the human teams CANT play their games, but instead have to be simmed after sending team exports.

I am wondering how Puresim's Online leagues work, do they work where you can export each game or does the commissioner have to sim the games after getting a team export?

I'm curious about this as well. The manual seems to imply you cannot (which sucks) but I'm not sure if that is correct or if there is a work around.

I have seen nothing to indicate this is possible. If it is I would be interested in knowing how and if not I would like to see it added. To me there is nothing more boring than shuffling players and money around, sending an e-mail and sitting around waiting for results week after week. Leagues that allow the hom or visiting team to manage the games or at least just watch them played are the only kind that interest me. I know many do not like this type league because of cheates, but to me the advantages outweight the gains. If some jerk wants to check with nothing to gain, then I will not his doing so bother me.

I agree 100% and I'm a little confused why you could not do such a thing?

I think my poor typing ability is the cause of confusion.

Should have read, >If some jerk wants to cheat with nothing to gain, then I will not allow his doing so to bother me or ruin my enjoyment of the league.<

No, I was just saying I can't see why this feature would not be available.

I'm not worried about cheating, I play with friends.
