Sound Mod

Post by Tactics »

More like sound changes than a mod. Anyway, I put one together. Changes most of the in game sounds and a few of the menu/ui sounds. I’ve uploaded it, but haven’t linked it yet. It’s about 9megs so if anyone is interested just let me know, I’ll post it here or direct you to our downloads section.

Is this the same one or new one just for COTA? I did test your HTTR one a few months back with COTA and it worked just fine. I don't believe there were any changes to sound handling since HTTR.

Same, but new. I added some voices to the area where you select the scenario, new air attack and new multiplayer message alert.  The combat sounds are the same ones that were in the HTTR sound pack I made.

A link or a hint how to find it would be nice, especially for players who are new to HttR/COTA, imho.

Btw, I like your GRAW-review, descriptions of the flaws are spot-on.

http://www.worldwarhq.com/downloads/HTTR/COTA_sounds.zip

It's 9megs or so. Extract it to your cota directory and let it overwrite everything. The file structure is intact so everything will go where it should. I played about 6 hours with it and had no problems.  In the next day or so I'll put it up in the downloads section @ www.worldwarhq.com.

Dont forget to make a back-up of the original sounds incase you want to go back.

I tried the HTTR sound mod with COTA and it worked fine. Tactics' sounds are more first person. The original HTTR/COTA sounds are more hollow and distant.

In any case, remember that PG/Matrix does not provide any technical support if you mod the game.
