Online play????

ok fellas...........a buddy of mine just bought the game a couple of days ago and we are trying to hook up for an online game but it keeps telling both of us host may not be ready after typing in appropriate IP address supplied by host. (we have both tried it as host)!

Whats the magic/voodoo [;)] for hooking up online????

make sure the host router forwards port 1944 to the internal IP of the host machine. The information on how do do this is in the reference manual.

I tried as host and I am not behind a router(DSL Modem), now a firewall yes and I have entered my buddies PUBLIC IP addy(went to whatsmyip.com) on approved list...still no connect ..........I hate to come across as a dumbass but I am [:D] on this stuff!!! Any sugesstions or a How to for semi-old dummies [;)] on setting up an online game from start to finish would help (I have followed the manuals inst. and it gets me nowhere since again I am not behind a router)

well I don't run a software firewall, but does yours have a box where you can allow a particular port number through? If so, type in 1944 and see if that works.

did, that also Chris.......it may be on my buddies end............... he is on cable internet and is behind a router me thinks...... he is contacting his ISP today to see what he needs to do! I'm off today and inbetween stints on mowing the yard and its hotter than hell alrady here in NW Louis. [:@] .......if you are on later can we try an experiment to see if you can hook up with me?????

Check out port-forwarding (it's in the manual, you've just got to read it [;)])

I just stopped after retiring from flying online in 2001.

I am happy to play against the AI, and a fine AI it is. Yakstock is the beta tester who really loves MP. I don't think he even plays SP for the most part.
