Need Ideas for using Tactical and local Reserves

Post by Severe »

Can anyone give me some ideas about using reserves? tactical and local.
Are there some tactics that would be imperitive to know or which units make the best reserves and when to use tactical vs. local.

Hi, you started two threads asking the same question. I'm going to close the other one.

Local reserve status is on the whole a bad idea, as the units will usually wander all over your rear areas as different parts of the line are attacked, never getting anywhere.

Tactical reserve is more useful. For a start, it is the best way of getting artillery with zero move remaining to offer passive supporting fire. Additionally, if used carefully tactical reserves can make a valuable contribution to defence in some circumstances.

"War? Huh. What is it good for?"
"Absolutely nothing."

Sorry about the double log did not realise that the first attempt actually succeeded.

Thx Golden Delicious for that interesting feedback. I will take it to heart
and try avoid local reserve.
