What Improvements?

Post by NefariousKoel »

I'm just wondering if you guys have a list of improvements yet.

A couple things that always bothered me was that your units in the task force would hold the same location within it after a heading change. Can the units stay in the same task force location relative to the overall heading?

Also, can we get patrol aircraft (such as a P-3) to automatically drop sonobuoys on their own? I recall having to select them and manually drop each buoy. It was a lot of micromanagement.

Thanks

You are speaking about the 'Threat Axis' function. Unfortunately, this feature is not present in Harpoon Classic games. If you really like it, you will have to play Harpoon3-style games. In H3, you are allowed to designate AAW and ASuW threat axes that can change according to the movement of the task force.

AFAIK, this is also unchanged. You still have to hit the 'Deploy Sonobuoy' hotkey. However, it could be much worse!

In the original game, when you wanted to deploy a sonobuoy, you had to physically bring the aircraft to a loiter speed. Imagine doing that a few hundred times in search of a sub?

That was MUCH more of a PitA! Sometimes, I would just let the damn sub fire on me because it was less trouble! [:D]
