Weekend message To SP:WaW Fathers:

Post by AbsntMndedProf »

Well, I'm off for the weekend again. See you all again on Monday! Here is something for all the fathers out there for this Father's Day: (Image from 'Father Knows Best', one of the few tv sitcoms that treated a father as a semi-intelligent human being.)[:)]

Yes, as a matter of fact, it does. (However, Finland's Father's Day falls in November. Dads from Finland should just consider this a very, very, very early Father's Day greeting.)

As a father, it's nice to be recognized and feted, but I 've gotten so conditioned, when my daughter asked me what I wanted for Father's Day, I immediately answered, "Ask your mom and see what she thinks."  [8|]

Ok, here's my quintessential Dad :

Image

He ALWAYS knew exactly the right thing to say -- and, if you disagreed with him, he had a badge and a pistol to reinforce his wisdom. [:D]

In all honesty, I really think this character was an admirable one -- do the right thing, be tolerant, keep your sense of humor, and be willing to admit when you made wrong judgements.

well...when they asked me that question...I said ...a "ZX-14Ninja"....and they all laughed like I "was" joking...so...I expect a matchbox for fathers day.

Another good one, for sure. But then, who is going to question the wisdom of a father who has access to firearms? [:D][:D][:D]
