RE: CHS Scenario update now available
Scenerio 159 which I am looking at also allows the Allied player to move his units prior to the opening moves of the Japanese on 7 Dec 1941, i.e. the game starts with the Allied player making his turn and then the Japanese (AI in my case). As an Allied player I certainly like that ability, however I do feel that not only will I abuse this, but sadly there may be others who would as well. My doing so is not a problem, it is the others that greatly concern me and I do not want to contribute to the delinquency of those "others".

Most scenarios start with this setup.
The abuse would be not including it, and allowing the IJN to target at sea TF's.[;)]

RE: CHS Scenario update now available
CHS is now at version 2.02.
Here is the list of fixes:
[ol]
[*]Aden did not have the resources and oil centres, and additional daily fuel and supplies, that were removed when the Middle East base was removed. That had now been fixed - Aden now has the combined oil. resources, fuel and supplies from the former Aden and Middle East bases.
[*]Many Chinese LCUs had incorrect planning targets. Some Soviet LCUs and a few other Allied LCUs were also affected. All Allied LCUs have now had their planning targets set correctly (this was a product of the same WitP editor "effect" that also affected some Japanese LCUs, which was already corrected).
[*]The following LCUs have had their Arrival dates changed to 0 (were in the range 411201 to 411207):
Slot
Unit
3085 9th RDH Cavalry
144 222 Group RAF
1740 1st Man. Dist. Army
1741 2nd Man. Dist. Army
1744 3rd Man. Dist. Army
1749 4th Man. Dist. Army
1750 5th Man. Dist Army
2896 11th US CBT
2672 73rd US
2674 82nd US
2677 83rd US
[*]The "2nd Marine Para" LCU has had its arrival date changed from 411208 to 411209, so that it will arrive on map.
[*]A number of Soviet ships had incorrect arrival dates in both the "Soviet Fleet" and "No Soviet Fleet" scenarios. All have now been fixed.
[*]The Liberator VI endurance is now the same as the B-24J - 835.
[/ol]
The scenario is available for download from my CHS web page (link in top post).

RE: CHS Scenario update now available
I reckon you are right, Halsey. I just fired up the stock scenerio 15 as well as the new CHS 2.02 scenerio 159 playing 1.800.1 with the Japanese set as the computer player and myself as the Allied player. In both cases I am able to get in the first move on 7 December. I can form up the battle line at Pearl Harbor and sail them out of harm's way. Just did so in stock...moved all the capital ships and some DD escorts out of Pearl to the south. I can do so many more things to protect the allies on their 7 December turn that I just just very surprised I never remembered doing it before. It always seemed like the Allies never before "got" a turn on 7 December....that their turns began on 8 December 1941. Always remembered the Japanese got first crack at the Allies.....Day of Infamy and all that. Just tried my 3.00 version of RHS and the Allies do not get a move on 7 Dec 1941....the scenerio loads and the game takes off the with Japanese assault. My Iron Storn install works as RHS.
But then I do have five installs of WITP. If Halsey is right then everything is well and fine except for my RHS and Iron Storm. Just need to figure out what to do to get this 7 December 1941 turn that I seem to be missing in them. But then again, I could have buggered up the installs. Did my memory really fail this bad on me???

There is an "Historical First Turn" option on the Realism Options menu. If this is set to "No" the allies get a move before the December 7th turn. If set to "Yes" they do not and just sit and take it the first day.
Everytime I change this setting for testing I forget to change it back, so the next time I start the game it goes joyfully off and starts without me.

RE: CHS Scenario update now available
I just updated the scenarios to 2.02 and was looking at supply at various bases. In scen 150, San Fran get only 2200 supply per day and 2000 fuel. Is that correct?? It seems very low to me. In the stock game it is 25,000 supply. A decrease of 90% seems very high.

When I play Dec7 41 start, I tend to always play with Historical First Turn option ON. This basically does not allow Allies a first turn.

Take a look at the "United States" base.
The US economy overall should be similar to that in the stock scenarios. Actually it is about 30-40% smaller, but can be built up to a higher level by repairing all of the damaged resource centres at US bases (which takes 2 or so years). This is explained in the documentation somewhere.
I also just noticed that the "United States" base somehow inherited 10,000 HI! I think an extra zero got in there - should be 1,000. That is more a minor annoyance rather than a major bug as the USA is intended to have more HI than resources, but no that much more! This is the first fix for 2.03 it seems.

2.03 and counting![:D]
RE: CHS Scenario update now available
Thanks. That was the problem. Had fresh installs of three of the versions so I guess the Historical First Turn option is set to "off" at start, and I just never had to need to glance down at the left hand corner, and the older installs seemed to be working as I remembered. (What manual? Don't need no ol' manual).
Yep. Five installs. WITP Virgin on an external hard drive. Then on internal there is WITP stock, CHS, Iron Storm, and RHS. Now I do realize I could combine stock and CHS with the ModSelect ability, but I prefer just to have a separate version. I also had a NikMod version for awhile until I found out the the new CHS would include significant portions of it. As you can tell, I have no problems trying to keep everything straight! Just the ongoing case if witpemtia which impairs my ability to function. [X(]
Been going bonkers comparing version to try and find the problem.
Edit: And to spell, so it seems. Am I also turning into a Brady? I am doomed, doomed I tell you!

Actually, this makes sense rather than have the same amount all through the game. It will take me some time to adjust as I spent all my time with stock scenario/maps for my first 1 1/2 years playing WitP. [&o]

Hello Andrew,
I'm in the process of installing CHS for the first time and I ran into a problem when installing your extended map (V6.2):
The readme tells me to copy "mapmod_docs\*.*" to "[Game folder]\mapmod_docs\".
However, the zip-file I just downloaded does not contain \mapmod_docs. It contains the readme, modselect.bat, choice.exe and the folder "art". I assume that I can continue installing CHS, as the missing folder seems to be the documentation only.
Regards,
VSWG
Edit: The link "CHS scenarios" on
http://www.bur.st/~akbrown/witp/CHS_documentation/install_6.html
is broken. I found the scenarios, though.

You are right. The readme is not correct. There is no "mapmod_docs" in the extended map package. There is in the standard map package, so you should already have the map documentation. I will have to fix that readme for the extended map package.

So it is. I will fix the link ASAP.

RE: CHS Scenario update now available
CHS has now been updated to version 2.03. There is only one fix included in the update:
1. The "United States" base had too many Heavy Industry points - 10,000 instead of 1,000. Fixed.
The updated scenarios are available from the web page link provided in the top post of this thread.
