Incorrect save dates on files

Post by Roger Neilson »

I am having no problem copying and pasting saves from my opponents, but as of yesterday when I save back to the slot I normally use it does not increment the savedate in the file... nothing to my knowledge has changed in my set up. if I save to a different slot lo and behold it says the right date and time for the save. I've been operaitng in this way for years with no issue... any ideas what to look at guys?

Cheers

Roger

Ok, for some reason the save folder had become read only.... now I have changed it back. I restart the computer... and its back to read only!

Windows XP Pro.....

I'm running that, too, with no problems. But, I made sure I had read/write access to the directory tree leading to the SAVE directory. I suspect you don't by default. MS is getting a bit paranoid about security, to the point that they are doing foolish things and degrading programmer productivity to levels where they won't be able to make their price point.

I haven't had any problems until late last night when this started up.... Very odd. I have now been right up the directory to C:/Matrix games - there I found it was also set at read only. So I unset it and all of its sub folders etc..... and when I go back in I find its reset to read only again!!!!!!!!
