Yes. The japanese submarines are actually quite effective with 1.801. FDR has torpedoed some of my AK's too and CVL Princeton was heavily escorted too.

I managed to put one torpedo into CV Hiryo too earlier so effectiviness of submarines has improved! [:)]

B29's have not made many airfield assaults yet. Simply because their range gives a means to distrubt his transport fleets in various places. However those B25's, Liberators, etc have really bombed the hell out of Japanese airforce [;)]

However it seems that IJN production is not in bad shape since he still has aircraft from which to replace those ones lost! [:-] (At least I think so but I guess I'am wrong person to ask about that... propably the FDR's thread could give you some insights)

Next turn Bangkok will be struck again and as I said those B29's will visit Saigon harbour.

It is intresting to see whether FDR will remove his planes out of Indochina and Malaya since he is taking a beating here.

I would not say as much. It is not all easy as it sounds like to be.

FDR could have and still could make me pay a huge price for my advances. As it is with Japanese I just can't be everywhere.

Let's take few examples here on what he could have done....

1) Take a aggressive stand at Marshalls with his navy and LBA's. It takes time to búild up bases.

2) Harash my supply convoys coming from West Coast. Those were not properly protected.

3) Had he brough hís KB into action at Truk or Tokyo... well who knows he might even have made me some major headaches.

etc, etc.

As long as FDR does not commit into major battles I can push forwards as planned and that road leads to allied victory eventually.

yeah but taking over a game, he had to regroup, replan and everything... It is true though that he does not seem very aggressive... I guess when you are a jap player late in war you tend to think that the whole KB is just a one shot thing so you reaaaaaaaaaaaaally ponder before committing it... and wait, maybe too much...

What I meant is that of course he can react to invasions, and he certainly will put up a fight and sacrifice the KB when you invade the Marianas, or PI, but late jap can't do squat against allied LBA, specially on the southern asean theater... 100+ B29 will flatten all his industry and AFs... I guess he should just take all fighters to the PI and train for the big battle...

Anyway, not complaining or anything... Just saying that it must be frustrating for him right now..

FDR is definately waiting too much with his navy. I mean Yamamoto + Musashi could have made a big diffrence in Gilberts and Marshalls.

It might have very bloody indeed since I did commit my BB's too.

If I where him I really would start to think aggressively now. I just have 4 squadrons of B29's and those planes cannot be everywhere.

It seems he is reinforcing Wake, Iwo Jima etc... so that a defensive game plan which is good for some situations but those troops could have given me a major headaches elsewhere.

I did give him time reorganize his troops, etc.

Marianas are a sure thing where KB will be but again that is what I would expect to happen.

One thing is that those Atoll invasions sure do eat A lot of Supplies and I'am still far off to even think about Guam, Tinian and Saipan since my troops are quite battered after these assaults. Also I do not have huge amount of transport ships either.

The only way I see FDR having success is to be very aggressive... who knows what kind of damage he could inflict by choosing to do so.

Also he has stacked a lot of aircraft to some of his bases. That is ok in my opinion but again those planes were on defense not in offense so it has given me a freehand to bomb hell out of him in places I choose to do so! [:-]

China

B29's have started their engines. Next stop will Matsuyama and the Mitsubishi factory in town.

Central & North Pacific

One intresting intelligence information from last turn came from Iwo Jima. One of my submarines propably spotted the KB along with Japanese BB's heading South East????

Where are these ships heading??? That is a big mystery to at this moment.

Allied Naval forces have been put in full alert and are on standby on to react with force!!!

Australia, NZ & South Pacific

Heavy LBA assaults have continued in Marshall Island, Solomons and Timor.

I have sent a lot of AK's to Darwin harbour. I'am really tempted to start on invasion at Timor. I cannot support this invasion with my navy so I have to use LBA bombers/fighters available to me. The question remains is this too risky idea to put forward!!!
