Personally i think that LBA should be able to support short range invasions in the DEI. invade/build move on etc. slow and steady also makes him face another theatre which has to be a good thing.

As for using AK's for invasions ! thats a tad desperate .. can you create barges in darwin to get a pile of LSD's etc . ?

one thing that really suprised me was when you hit his airfields in indo china he didnt fly cap ? all seemed to be ground kills. very odd. unless he wants the a/c destroyed so he can re-use the pilots . im assuming your on 1.8.01 ? even not, once 1 a/c has been moved elsewhere then ALL the pilots follow when the last remaining plane is destroyed. so maybe he's concentrating elsewhere , which makes sense.

B29's from china ? just a personal opinion but that does seems bit gamey as it obviates the need for america to invade islands within range of the japanese homeland ( almost makes the entire pacific pointless).

speaking of points [;)].. getting a 2-1 in 45 looks very very hard for now ! .. maybe you'll carry on till dec 45 and we will see the shinden a reppu in combat . that should be interesting [:D]
sorry for the spelling . English is my main language , I just can't type . and i'm too lazy to edit :)

Ok. I take your word for it in DEI Rob! [;)] I will start preparing for this offensive now. I do not top quality planes available but I doubt he has either in DEI.

2:1 in at the beginning of 1945 is out of the question. FDR is actually still in the lead by +1000 points so I would need score a lot and almost without any losses.

Hmpf, I actually thought/read that B29's werea actually active in China??? Did they actually force Japanese to start offensives here since those planes threatened to Japan itself.

Either way these actions will not take the focus off Pacific. No, I do intend to capture Kwaleijin, Marianas (Saipan, Guam, Tinian) and then head towards Philippines. These operations will be huge fights since it already seems that he is reinforcing Marianas, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, Wake Island.... and who know where.

I would really like to destroy his army at Burma. I looked at the reinforcement schedules and I will receive 3 UK/Indian divisions within 4 months time. Currently I have +200 000 troops preparing for Moulmein and he has 35 units garrisoning this base. I would actually move into Moulmein already but it requires an shock assault since I need to cross river.

Yep, B-29s were in China for a few months, conducting occassional raids on the Home Islands. In late 44 or early 45 they were all re-based in the Marianas. Keeping them supplied in China was a problem & they could reach Tokyo from Tinian.

That is what I thought and read. Than the Witp game works as it should (suprise).

As I said in previous post the B29's eat a lot of supplies (I do not have these amounts in China) so there is no possibility at the moment to keep them flying from day to day basis.

...and I cannot reach Tokyo from Chungking so that is historically correct too! [:D]

Interesting to read this late war AAR.
But I have to agree, it must be very frustrating for the japanese player at the moment, especially these 4e-bombers. Have you ever thought about some kind of "self-restriction"? Maybe like targeting heavy industy and production only. More for your own challenge and not to frustrate your opponent to much. This frustration might be the reason for his passive style of playing. B29 in China should be ok for example but with your air superiority here I can´t imagine it is possible for FDR to launch an offensive in China similar to real life to shut down these B-29 airfields. And it´s not only the B-29: you have a lot of other 4-e too. These heavies are your main weapon now, aren´t they? I wouldn´t care about victory points.
Nevertheless a good allied game, aztez.

Allied navy is going through some major upgrades in Pearl Harbour. Once these are done they will sail into action again.

It seems FDR has a lot of supplies in Moulmein and quite a few engineers also. I base this assumption to the fact that he seems to be able to repair his airfields after these horrific bombing runs.

Hi! Nice to see new readers [:)]

Actually it did not drop from 9 to 2. If I remember correctly it went from 9 to 6 and than to 2 [:)]. I just did not include the second strike combat report.

I was actually more than pleased to see this base fall so quickly. Now the focus turns into Wotje and Kwaleijin.

Troops are also enroute towards Darwin. I just need to bring in more supplies and than I would be ready to start Timor offensive.

FDR managed to input some Oscar's into Marshalls and those guys managed temporarily to hamper with my LBA bombing campaigns. These planes flew either from Wotje or Eniwetok.

Next turn I'am resting my 4E crews. Once these guys are well rested than I start pushing towards Kwaleijin again.

Supply convoy has now reached Darwin too. More units are enroute towards this area.

No need for self-restriction. Play to the full extent of your capabilities and reap the rewards. Restricting the Allied player to keep thing "fair" is as bogus now as restricting Japanese players in 1941 to end of 42. No, play it out and maximise the advantages you have earned through good play.
John Dillworth: "I had GreyJoy check my spelling and he said it was fine."
Well, that's that settled then.

Yeah. I do agree with you Nemo. It is a long journey to 1944 and the 1942 and early 1943 weren't exactly easy times for any allied player.

I will storm ahead with everything I got and I try to use it to maxium advantage.

Game date is 22nd of June 1944

India & Burma

RAF keeps bombing Moulmein and Japanese keep repairing the runways there. He has a lot of supplies piled up that is for sure.

West African division has now landed at Rangoon. I will move more troops in before starting the final assault on Burma. Hopefully this will crush the Japanese completely.

Nice amount of HI destroyed. I will keep at it for time being. Without Heavy Industry FDR will have tough times ahead of himself.

Central & North Pacific

Transport ships are heading to Pearl Harbour. These ships will load a lot of infantry men and supporting LCU's. Once this is done they will strike againts Kwaleijin in Marshalls.

This way I can rest my USCM and South Pacific divisions for upcoming battles.

Just 2 US CV's are still waiting for their upgrades. Once these are done I will have my full battle fleet ready for action.

Australia, NZ & South Pacific

I'am waiting for the right moment to start my push to Timor. Troops are eagerly waiting green light for this operation.

Otherwise I shifting supplies to my frontline. This is somewhat time consuming process.
