Renaming units?

Renaming units?

Hi Everyone,

So far I have not found how to rename my units during gameplay.

I click the unit and hit numpad 7.
Have tried CTRL, SHIFT, numpad lock off/on.. etc

Any ideas?

I reported this once and was told that it is not possible to re-name your own units.  You can re-name groups, but not individual units.

Where are you seeing that this function is possible?  Is it mentioned in the manual?

You can't rename your own units in the GE. You can in the SE. While playing in the GE you do have the ability to rename contacts. Really useful since, don't need to remember or keep opening the db to find which of those aircraft are Su-27s and which are MiG-21s etc. For all renaming its num lock off number pad 7.

I thought you could rename your own as well... my mistake.
