Italian capacities

Post by JeF »

From the "I'm pulling your leg" dept :

Dave,

Do you plan to add special subterfuge capacities to the Italian units in a patch for COTA ?
Or would you reduce all their abilities by 10% as an act of revenge ?

I'm sure there will be a patch.
It will make the Italians draw until the last minute when suddenly they will win. [:'(]

Right !

Now, if realism really counts, every scenario involving Italians should have 5 minutes of additional time as well.

Yes JeF it was a very cruel penalty and a very cruel ending. So I guess the mods in the patch will have to reflect both of these. [;)]

It's been a rough night. The game didn't end here until 3am. Then some salesman rings me first thing in the morning followed my more phone calls timed deliberately to keep me awake. Oh well it was still worth it. Not bad for the 44th ranked team in the world to be denied by Italy in the round of 16 and then only in the last minute of the match. Well done the Socceroos and my commiserations to Lucas Neal, who up until giving away that penalty had been outstanding for Australia. It reminded me of my own soccer experience in the under 10s ( that's ancient history for most of you ) when in the grand final as full-back I made a desparate challenge in the closing minutes of what was then a drawn match and the ball deflected off my leg for an own goal, costing us the premiership. Boy did I feel low at that time. Lucas and the boys will be back and the better for it. [:)]

Aussies were cheated. A terrible shame. I thought they looked so good on the ball. Played better than England have so far and deserved to have gone through.

Not many for sure. France probably have though!

Watching Switzerland taking penalties last night I think I finally found a team England could beat in a penalty shootout as well [:D]

If you want a real battle, create a scenario with 11 Portuguese v. 11 Dutchmen.

Yes, but some Italian units should be withdrawn at the beginning of the scenario for no good reason at all [;)]

True Vince, that Red was certainly unfair ...

But effectively gifting the game to Italy in the last seconds leaving zero chance for an Australian comeback was, far, far worse [:@]

Very sloppy ref'ing all round this cup, and the Socceroos received more than their fair share of it!

Maybe Dave could knock up an Italy vs Australia World Cup 2006 scenario for COTA (with appropriate player... erhmm units). I know I would relish the opportunity to "correctly re-adjust" History [:D]
