Effects of Headquarters

Can anyone provide a concise explanation about what HQ units do besides provide support and reorganization?

Specifically:
  • What do Army HQs do? Does their Leader add (or detract) from Combat? Which leader effects combat if multiple HQs in hex?
  • Do different Army HQ levels effect different things (e.g. does SW Pacific or I Corp HQs effect units differently than Americal's HQ).
  • Do HQs effect units not in their command structure (e.g. does Northern Australia HQ have any effect on
  • Do Army/Air/NAV HQs effect all types of units stationed in the same hex or just their type?
  • Do Naval HQs effect SYS damage repair on harbored ships?
  • Is there any difference between South Pacific HQ and the 5&7th Fleet HQs for repair, reorganization, ship abilities?

As far as leaders go, what's the effect of Leadership and Inspiration? I realize higher is better but better for what?

Keep in mind these questions are in addition to the Reorg and Support abilities native to HQs. We all know they do that. Thanks

    Adds a percentage to the effectiveness of your troops w/i a certain radius. As to whose leader values are used in combat . . . no idea.

    Yeah, different percentage effect and different radii of effect.

    Command structure means nothing. Seems to me there was discussion when the game was being tested about that. Wish it had been implemented.

    Just their type. Except the slacker naval hqs. They don't effect anyone.

One of the bigger mysteries of our times. There's a good list of effects in the manual, whether it works or not is another. Besides making sure that I don't have a tard in command of lcus or capital ships, I don't worry about it. Squadron leaders are another matter. Leadership and inspiration have a large effect on ac squadrons.
