Just let this pathetic piece of slime stew in his own bile, Ursa. He is nothing, and what he says means nothing.
And I hope he will say nothing in the foreseeable future.

Sheesh. Chez you know it isn't worth arguing. Save your energy and fingers
Dont waste your time. Mdiehl has proven many times, that he is incapable for even the slightest change of his illusions. No matter how hard you argue, no matter whom you quote, no matter how rude you are. It his HOLY Mission to get rid of the AXIS propaganda which has 'infected these forums'. You can't argue with fanatics.
No Chez, my last post was not directed at you. You and Mdiehl having been dueling for some time.ORIGINAL: ChezDaJez
I'm assuming that your last post was NOT directed at me. Is that correct?
Regardless, there is a huge difference between Ursa Major showing disdain for someone and the type of behaviour mdiehl exhibited. Its kind of like hauling out the shotgun because some hit you with a rubberband.

Read my statement above Chez, the insults started diredcted at Mdiehl

The insults start flying and ALL is fair.
In other words, don't pull the bulls tail and complain when you get gored.
EDIT: And furthermore, I don't know Mdiehl from Adam, but if he's "my buddy" that's fine with me.
While we've had our differences from time to time, Demosthenes, you are straightfoward and decent soul.

Don't start a war without a strategic plywood reserve

I've read in one of the NTMs that the problem with plywood was that they were unable to produce sufficient quantities of the glue required to make it and that they had only 3 factories in Japan dedicated to making it.

...but hey I was called a dirthole dweller right after I gave voice to my disagreement, some six months ago.
I usually don't respond to posts that claim that Canada is a frozen wasteland, where people ski to grocery store to buy some ammo to fend off marauding grizzly bears.
These small wooden fins provided extremely little additional buoyancy. It was the flow of the water over the angled fins that brought the torp back towards the surface faster than it normally could.

On review, it's interesting that I find myself occupying one of Chez' earlier positions on the matter, after he abandoned (?or did he?) that position.

And after thrashing it all out. I think that makes alot of sense. FWIW at this point.

I knew that you all didn't ski to the store. I figured in this modern world, you would be using snowmobiles!!![:D][:D][:D]

The most interesting thing I have read here is that the Japanese had a plywood shortage. [:)] I can see Molybdenum, Polonium, Aluminum..even petroleum..but plywood? Were they going to include Oregon in the greater co-prosperity sphere and bring in a bunch of Koreans to work the sawmills?
I would say the two great lessons of the Pacific War were (some not learned):
1) Never fight a land war in Asia
2) Don't start a war without a strategic plywood reserve
