Blue and green command lines

Post by Fred98 »

I am now onto Tutorial 1 of COTA. The bottom of page 41

Select the 2/4 Inf Bn HQ
Hold down Ctrl and click on the C MG Coy and the the 2/8th Fd Eng Coy

Order the 2/4 Inf Bn HQ to move

Start at the slowest speed

Let time go forward a min or 2

Hit pause

Check the command lines.

There are no command lines between 2/4 Inf Bn HQ and the 2 units in question.

The command lines between all other units are there.

What am I missing?

I have an infantry battallion. I need to attach a MG unit to the battallion. How do I attach the unit?

Between the battalion and the MG unit is an armoured unit.  I do not wish to attach the armoured unit to the new battlegroup.

How do I attach the MG unit to the inf battallion?

Joe 98, Try this:

1.
Click the Bn HQ unit so it's highlighted.

2. hold down "shift" and the "down arrow" key to highlight all the HQ's subortinate units. (optional)

3. wile holding down "Ctrl" , click the MG unit, and any other units you want to attach to the HQ.

4. Now, you have to issue an order for the attachment to occur. if you want them to all remain in their current positions, select "defend" and click near the center of the HQ unit. Then select the formation "in situ".

Whatever order you give, the entire new formation should respond, with command lines, etc.

Hope this helps.

Thank you.  What I had been doing, at point 4 above, I clicked again the HQ unit and issued the order. That was the error
