Nice review [8D]. I had experienced so many "But it's a DOS game!!!" negative reactions from prospective players in the last few weeks that I was beginning to wonder if the feeling was also widespread among bonafide wargamers as well. It's reassuring to know it's not [:D]

Just a minor correction on the versions timeline: The version released in 1994 was the original Harpoon 2 (with only the Global Conflicts battleset and few animations). This was followed by H2MM (Multimedia Edition) in 1995, which was essentially the updated H2 exe with more battlesets, the scen. editor and more animations. The next version was H2AE (Admiral's Edition) in 1996, which was essentially the complete H2 package with all the videos, all the battlesets and the scenario and DB editor. Harpoon 3 was released in early 2002 and was the first port of H2 to Windows with a lot of bugfixes some new features, solid running on WinXP and much improved performance. This was subsequently updated through a succession of patches and eventually matured into version v3.7, which was released as H3-ANW.

Also just want to make sure that you do know that although you cannot drag the map with the left mousebutton clicking somewhere in the map with the right button will center the map on that point.

Sorry if that sounds too obvious.

Cheers,

Hmmm.......the reviewer must be either a wargamer or a true gamer.[;)]
