2 things, plz

A brand new campaign-based 3D tactical engine covering combat in World War II, from the developers at Koios Works. The first operation covered is the famous "Wintergewitter" or Winter Storm, a desperate attempt by Hoth's 57th Panzer Korps to break through to the encircled 6th Armee at Stalingrad and the Soviet counter-attack by 2nd Guards Army that drove them back.

2) Did you read the manual yet? You use the mount command to enter buildings.

How close do they need to be to the building? I seem to be having a hard time getting infantry to enter. Shouldn't I be able to tell an infantry unit to enter a building from aways away? Again, waypoints would have helpeded a great deal.

I don't find that in the manual but I believe I saw another post that said 6 meters.

I agree that moving, then stopping, then mounting, is cumbersome.

Unmount to leave the building.

I think it would be nice to have the mount command work with a drag. Or something else, right now I think it is the most unintuitive aspect of the command GUI.

And in the setup turn.

danke herr schwanebeck!

i like this game allot, even though its not easy, but that’s a plus in my book.

so basically this game is highly modable and lots of improvements will come up in future patches upgrades or add-ons etc.

just checking as a lot of friends and online buddies (mostly red orchestra community) awaiting my review before they are willing to buy it.

thx again for response,

himmelstoss

I know I am missing something but infantry in the first two scenarios of the German campaign seems useless. Was it a design choice not to allow machine guns or on board mortars. These would seem really useful against the AT guns.

My infantry either get shot in their vehicles or take forever to move through terrain. Also attacking enemy occupied buildings seems nigh on impossible. I know you use the mount order when close enough but it always seems unavailable to me. Why not an assault order or similar. That would seem to make life a lot easier.

Remember that your infantry can fire when mounted. I used scout cars to draw fire and get some initial suppressing fire going, followed by half-tracks with mounted inf blazing away. Enemy infantry will abandon buildings when under very heavy fire, then you can finish them off in the open. I have used similar tactics to suppress AT guns while my tanks have got into position to lay down destructive fire.
