Speedy vs Nikademus: Nik Mod 7.0.

Post by Speedysteve »

Hi all,

That's right folks after all the talk and deliberation it's time for a re-match.

We're using Nik's 7.0 Mod 42A Campaign.

Same as last game i'm playing the Japanese. Nik is playing the Allies.

I have had very little time to play this so far and on the first turn I checke a couple of frontline units, placed some orders in China and moved a couple of ships. That is all I had time for.

On turn 2 I actually found time to deploy some submarines.....woooo.......Stuff still to look at over the next 2 weeks - resource/oil movement, troop movement, TF forming, plane group movement etc, factory expansion/conversion.....not too much then[;)]

Anyway onto the first 2 days of the war. Fairly quiet as to be expected. The Allies send small air raids over Lashio, Akyab and Mandalay. 77th Ftr Sentai Vets flying their Nates hold their own against the heavier armed Hurricanes:

Day Air attack on Mandalay , at 33,30

Japanese aircraft
Ki-27 Nate x 14

Allied aircraft
Hurricane IIb x 26
Hudson I x 6

Japanese aircraft losses
Ki-27 Nate: 2 damaged

Allied aircraft losses
Hurricane IIb: 6 damaged

Airbase hits 1
Runway hits 2

Aircraft Attacking:
6 x Hudson I bombing at 15000 feet
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day Air attack on Lashio , at 35,30

Allied aircraft
Hurricane IIb x 2
Hudson I x 3

No Allied losses

Airbase hits 1

Aircraft Attacking:
3 x Hudson I bombing at 15000 feet
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day Air attack on Akyab , at 30,29

Allied aircraft
Buffalo I x 8
Blenheim IV x 6
LB-30 Liberator x 6

No Allied losses

Aircraft Attacking:
6 x Blenheim IV bombing at 15000 feet
6 x LB-30 Liberator bombing at 15000 feet
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 05/02/42

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day Air attack on Mandalay , at 33,30

Japanese aircraft
Ki-27 Nate x 10

Allied aircraft
Hurricane IIb x 34
Hudson I x 9

Japanese aircraft losses
Ki-27 Nate: 2 damaged

Allied aircraft losses
Hurricane IIb: 3 damaged
Hudson I: 2 damaged

Runway hits 1

Aircraft Attacking:
3 x Hudson I bombing at 15000 feet
6 x Hudson I bombing at 15000 feet
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day Air attack on Akyab , at 30,29

WE ALL KNOW FROM OUR LAST GAME NIK IS INCOMPETENT AND A BAFFOON HEAD. HE IS GOING TO LOOSE AGAIN[:'(]

Hi all,

Well my lack of time on these turns showed today when Nik moved Lexington and Yorktown up past Guadalcanal and near Shortlands. I had left the TF's there at game start with historical settings = move to Tulagi and Lunga. They reached there and (fortunately unloaded all the men) before SBD's and TBD's sank 10 out of 12 ships. The most valuable being ML Okinoshima[:(]:

Day Air attack on TF, near Tulagi at 68,96

Allied aircraft
F4F-3 Wildcat x 8
F4F-4 Wildcat x 5
SBD Dauntless x 60
TBD Devastator x 24

Allied aircraft losses
SBD Dauntless: 1 damaged

Japanese Ships
DD Yuzuki, Bomb hits 6, on fire, heavy damage
PG Koei Maru, Torpedo hits 3, on fire, heavy damage
MSW Rokko Maru, Bomb hits 2, on fire, heavy damage
DD Kikuzuki, Bomb hits 8, on fire, heavy damage
MSW Tama Maru, Torpedo hits 1, on fire, heavy damage
AK Azumasan Maru, Bomb hits 1

AND:

Day Air attack on TF, near Shortlands at 63,93

Allied aircraft
F4F-3 Wildcat x 15
F4F-4 Wildcat x 12
SBD Dauntless x 53
TBD Devastator x 24

No Allied losses

Japanese Ships
ML Okinoshima, Bomb hits 9, Torpedo hits 1, on fire, heavy damage
PC Toshi Maru #3, Bomb hits 1, Torpedo hits 1, on fire, heavy damage
MSW Wa 1, Torpedo hits 1, on fire, heavy damage
PC Tama Maru #8, Bomb hits 4, on fire, heavy damage
MSW Wa 2, Torpedo hits 1, on fire, heavy damage

DOH!

------------

Both SS Drum and SS Greenling received attention from IJN DD's over the 2 days. 4 x DC's dropped near to Drum before a patrolling Alf put a bomb into her. Yard time for her then.

-----------

Hurricanes and Nate's battled over Mandalay again with 2 x Nate being destroyed for damage to 10 x Hurricanes.

----------

Actually managaed to dedicate 30 minutes to the turn today so managed to order a few ships from place to place.

First licks to Nik.

Better devote a little more time to turns or Nik is going to say neener, neener, neener.[:D][:'(]

P.S. That will be easier said than done. Good luck with the stuff coming up this week.[:)]

Hi all,

Well Nik is a wimp and a crap commander to say the least. Rather than capitalising on his opportunity yesterday he runs away with his CV's[8|]

The 5th and 6th were quiet to say the leats. I guess a sympton of us both rushing turns. Here's the entire CR. Enjoy[;)]:

Hi all,

Ah. The end of my first week in my new job. What a manic and tough touigh week it has been. This is going to take a little while to get used to I think.

I am mentally exhausted and have no idea where I am etc[;)]

Anyways.............

The quiet continues in our game with presumably both Nik and I moving forces across the theatre to relevant positions. Here's the entire CR for the 2 days:
