Soundbug in 2.3 ?

Hi guys,

since I upgraded this great game of yours to ver2.3, I'm unable to hear the background battle noise, the weather FX and the artillery sound, including the impact sounds of individual arty rounds. Hope you got a clue on that one, because those sounds add a lot to the ambience.

Delete your Steel.prf in your save directory and restart.

Hi David,

thanks for the prompt reply, but I'm afraid, the steel.prf doesn't help.
In the meantime, I found out that the above mentioned sounds are played perfectly in scenarios and generated campaigns..?!
Only in long campaigns the sounds seem gone.
What really irritates me, is that I uninstalled the game, reinstalled 1.0, started a long campaign and suddenly there the sounds don't play anymore as well.
I have no clue. Do you ? Image

OK, forget it.
Now the background sounds suddenly came back, after finishing one battle. I don't get it.

I had the same thing happen in a "Blenheim Blunder" scenario. Though the background sound never came back throughout the game, the other scenarios work fine.
Ahhh computers, you gotta lovem'. I call it job security!!
