PBEM

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Hi 1NWCG. Thanks for reply. Just applied to join INWC[:)]
Pleased you are enjoying PBEM (COG). For me I'm afraid it did not live up to expectations re pbem'ing.
did the patch improve things I wonder?

The patch has been nice in terms of making it eaiser to see things on the map.  I'm not all for complaining much about a game system if I like its overall concepts.  I don't get into the nitty gritty of it all.  Maybe I will have a few folks comment on it, if I can get them from our game to come.

What did you not like about it?? Maybe others can comment??

Our club is serious about adopting it for use, were waiting on Les Grognards to come into demo before we change our points structure to fit the new games, but we really want to add it in.

So the more feedback, the better!

Thanks for joining our Club!

I joined two games (through NWC) when game first appeared. Was quickly disallusioned with Diplomatic aspects and the amount of micro-managing involved.
e.g. agreed (I played England..huzza!) with Spain aspects regarding Gibralter etc (I played a lot of Diplomacy years ago). The dratted engine appeared to ignore me!

I would like to get back into pbem (I only pbem - even do not play against AI with any game)...ah well[&:])
Thanks for interest.

One bug is that Naval vessels tend to start appearing in inland provinces. I am playing the Russians and I have a swedish naval unit in Vitebsk. Not possible unless it sailed up the Dvinia.
Are we like late Rome, infatuated with past glories, ruled by a complacent, greedy elite, and hopelessly powerless to respond to changing conditions?

If you want to do PBEM with this game let me know, I'll set one up again. We need more than one test game going.

The AI in most games are pretty bad, but I can't imagine some of the dumb stuff it does, in a lot of games.
