All-Star Game Commentary

Post by KG Erwin »

Dang, Brad Penny was throwin' some heat. ( Needless to say, I'm rooting for the NL). [X(]

2nd inning -- kudos to David Wright for hitting it out and tying it up.

In the 3rd, a mike was put on NL manager Phil Garner, and we saw his team steal third and score on a wild pitch. Great stuff. Fox is literally putting us in the dugout, and it's cool.

Gotta go. This is fascinating.

No FOX? You gotta be kiddin' me.

I'll be updating the first post as long as I stay sober enough to type.

NL All the way! Got to root for my home league. Some high heat indeed. This is the first time I have seen Ichiro. He sure has a crazy swing. Like ADD in the Batters Box. Seems to work for him though.

Your Welcome [:D]

How about Beltran's 2 doubles a SB and a Run scored on the Wild Pitch? Go Mets!

I am loving this.  Interviews with the managers as the game is happening, the human interest stories about Clemente, etc.   Fox is trying to hit the right balance, and so far, their coverage has been outstanding.

KG, now that we have a break in the action...

Wanted to give you a heads up that Jon Connor sent me pics of the images he used for his ballpark set that I just uploaded yesterday. There is an AMAZING shot of Forbes Field that I've never seen before, and I know you'll love it. Download it and check it out.

Go NL!!! Lookin' forward to Trevor Time, (hopefully).

No cable. Although I may be getting DirectTV if I can work out installation issues in my apartment. Want it more for SPEED channel than anything else.

Arrrrgh! I can't believe that. Hold on and hold on then lose it in 2 or 3 plays....
A very good all star game though. I enjoyed it very much.

Oh, jeez. Unbelievable ending, like so many PureSim  games. You are cruising through the late innings, and all it takes is for one reliever to come in and blow it all.  [8|]

I gotta say that Fox did pay a good tribute to the arguable "most beautiful park in the majors", so the broadcast itself was very good.

Yep, the end kind of sucked (what was Hoffman thinking throwing a Strike on an 0-2 count with 2 outs). [:@]

At least my boys can be proud scoring and manufacturing the only two runs of the game (grats Wright and Beltran). [:D]

Oh man... what a tough loss for the NL, and even tougher for the lone San Diego representative....  I've never seen Trevor put so many balls over the heart of the plate like that...

Crap crap crap..... [:@]

Well, it appears that if you're a baseball fan (and I can only assume you are) and you want to watch MLB's more important games (i.e., playoffs and World Series), you're unfortunantly not in luck.

They announced at the end of the game that FOX has renewed its contract with MLB for the All-Star game and World Series (and presumably at least part of the Division and League Championships) for the next 7 years.

And if you don't like Joe Buck and Tim McCarver then I guess you're out of luck as well. [:)]

Given that the NL has not won an All-Star game since 1996, I would suggest that you probably are speaking for the whole league. [:)]
