Screen Resolution

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Screen Resolution

Post by Panama Red »

I just purchase CoG yesterday and in looking through the manal and doing a "search" on these forums, I can not find out what screen resolution the game runs in since it does not give you an option to set what you want when you start the game.

Can anybody tell me what is the screen resolution of CoG ???

Thanks

It runs at 1024 x 768.

FYI, an easy way to determine the resolution of any screen is to do a screen capture (print screen), then paste it into paint and view the attributes to see the size of the resulting image.

Thank you. So I take it that there is no way to increase the resolution to 1280x1024 ???

Nope.  The resolution is fixed.  I think there is an option for running it at a lower res for people with much older hardware but generally speaking it doesn't change.

Purely out of curiosity, is that a concern to you and if so, why?  1280 x 1024 isn't a big difference in resolution.  And most flat panels today are pretty decent at running non-native resolutions.  I have a flat panel that is 1600x1200 native and CoG looks fine to me.  Is there any particular reason why you were hoping to run at 1280x1024?

Thanks. I have a new AMD FX-60 with dual ATI 1900 XT cards PC and I was hoping to use the PC to a higher capacity with a higher resolution, be it 1280x1024 or 1600x1200. I still use my 21" CRT monitor, so it is not an LCD problem (LCD's are not the best for some of my Flight games).
