How to use Ballpark/Picture Mods

Post by KG Erwin »

For picture mods, unzip files inside the Pure Sim/mods/faces folder. Historical player faces are put in subfolders by decade, so you should make separate folders from 1870s through 1990s, and another one called Present Day.

Padres Fan's face packs already have these separated by decade, so place the files inside the folders you made.

In the game, on the association menu, click options and utilities. On this page, click "auto assign player photos", and the game takes care of the rest. The game engine searches the files for the decade your association is set in.

What's cool about this is that if your association transitions from say, 1959 to 1960, you can repeat this process. So, if an aged Mickey Mantle or Ted Williams photo exists, it will replace the previous one, and any newly arriving rookies will also show up.

For Ballparks, unzip these inside the Pure Sim/mods folder. I've found it useful to create new folders for these, too, such as Classic parks, 2006 Parks, and so forth.

In the game, on the association menu, click the drop down menu "teams", and select one. On the team menu, click "Ball Park". If you want to assign a new field, click "modify ball park". On this menu, click "import", and got to the folder that contains the park you want. You open that, and the new park is assigned.

You can do this for each team by repeating the process.

Make a folder in your Puresim\Mods directory called 'Logos' or 'MLB Logos'.  Whatever name you want.  Put all the logos in there and when you start assigning logos, reference that directory for any logos that you want.  You will have to assign each one team by team.  The game does not automatically pick out logos by itself.

The above directory is just a suggestion, but I have my face packs and logos and ballpark images all in separate subdirectories in the 'Mod' folder.
