I'm sure it can vary a lot from scenario to scenario, but roughly how many turns is a typical TOAWIII game?

Wondering how long it would take with finite throughput PBEM.

I'm not an expert and I have only started a FitE game PBEM, but from scrolling down the scenario list it seems most scenario's are between 15-40 turns. Some go way beyond. FitE is 405 turns.

In terms of actual playing time, ranging from about an hour to more like 1,000 hours.
"What did you read at university?"
"War Studies"
"War? Huh. What is it good for?"
"Absolutely nothing."

Or the rest of your life, depending on how quick you play and how much time you've got left. ;-)

If you go to Rugged Defence ( http://www.the-strategist.net/RD/scenar ... enario.php ), you can plug in min/max # of turns to select the scenario length you're looking for. I'd say most scenarios go from 12-75 turns. A few below, many more higher. At RD you can get a more precise idea if you wish.
Tactics are based on Weapons... Strategy on Movement... and Movement on Supply. (J. F. C. Fuller 1878-1966)
