RE: Action in the IO

Post by kaleun »

February 12th 44
The enemy carrier force is still f*rting around the Andamans, undecided wether to advance or withdraw. I anticipate a withdrawal back to 'pore.
Meanwhile, the barges are intercepted again; this time, in massive overkill, by battleships with predictable results. The B25s come visiting later on. I think they are only 2 left.
The much abbreviated AAR follows

In the IO, recon flights show that he has parked a bunch of battleships in the Andamans. It appears that he does not like my battleships bombarding there.[8|]I wonder why. Meanwhile, his carriers are still missing after having had Shoho torpedoed.
Appear at places to which he must hasten; move swiftly where he does not expect you.

Operation K-Go

Post by Warspite** »

Daihonei Dispatch
Operation K-Go was a complete success with Lanchow falling a week earlier than originally estimated. This is primarily due to an assault by the Chinese forces which left them disorganised and understrength. An assualt the next day, with the intended goal of reducing fortifications, resulted in the complete evacuation of the city (note: the garrison fled into the wilds as 2 Mongolian cavalry divisions were on their way to Sining and cut them off. This was unitended and in my opinion a flaw of the game system. These two cavalry divisions would have been brushed aside by the 34 LCUs running in there direction). Soon after the capture of Sining was accomplished, leaving Japanese forces in command of the entire northern half of China. Forces there are regrouping with the intention of launching Operation M-Go. Though this may not happen as pressure elsewhere might necessitate the transfer of troops to other fronts.

Operation Donryu has been postponed as the presence of American carriers in both the Indian Ocean and the Gilbert Islands has drawn naval support to these threatened areas.
