NOOOO.. Replacements are not available!!

Post by *Lava* »

Hi!

As I have posted before, the replacement function has a problem. Now I know what it is.

It's broke.

Here you see the Inventory and Replacements screen I made for a small scenario:
Image

Here you see the Loss Report after a battle. Notice that artillery and armor have no replacements scheduled for them in the Inventory and Replacements screen, yet in the Loss Report it states "Replacements are available."

Here you see the Loss Report after another battle. Notice that for Command Squads it states "Replacements are not available." This is correct, but the rest of the info is trash.

Something is wrong here.

Don't forget- some equipment showing as disabled ends up being considered damaged and returned to the replacement pool, even if nominally the replacement rate is 0. So of your 17 guns and 4 tanks disabled, some return to their replacement pools.

Hope this helps.

I knew that…[:D]… no I didn't
I thought that only happens when a unit evaporates.
I learn something everyday.

DARN!

You are correct.

Just ran the scenario real quick and sure enough, the equipment is finding its way back into the inventory after combat.

Thanks Obe Won!

Actually, it's unless the unit is out of supply. And applies whether unit is damaged or evporated. And don't forget if you're player 2 and player 1 puts you out of supply on his turn, you won't be considered out of supply until after the next inter-turn bookkeeping phase- in other words your following turn. From the manual (ACOW though believe same in TOAWIII) under 'All Battles are Resolved':

"Much of the equipment "lost" during combat is not actually destroyed. Instead, it is considered damaged or temporarily unserviceable. This damaged equipment goes to the replacement pool unless the owning unit is out of supply.".

Hope this helps.

Thanks GS!

I'm trying something... different.

And although at first glance I didn't want this... after running my test scenario a couple times... it works fine.
