Question

Post by mqcorp »

Hi.
I need help.
I ordered my planes to supply panzer armies (I had 3 armies with supply 0). But after this operation they still had supply level 0. I sent many planes, I tried them all, but nothing happened. There where no enemy planes, I had a message about 160 tons (more or less for different air groups) supply delivered and nothing. Supply level 0. Why ? BUG ?
(I add it's third turn)
I have WIR v3.3 (with PBEM from Matrix page)

PS
I'm looking for a game with human opponent.

air supply does not raise the supply of the hex, it only increases the readiness of the units within the hex. this prevents the abuse of units no longer in supply by keeping their movement to 1 hex/turn.

I don't understand. Does it mean that my panzer army may move for only one/two hex even when supplied by air lift? AFAIR I lifted my tanks from air and move fastly into enemy territory. If my tanks move with speed of two hexes it makes no sense.

air dropping supplies means food and ammo - no fuel. if a unit is out of supply it may only move 1 hex, and it loses huge amounts of readiness every turn. airdropping improves the unit readiness so it can remain combat effective until it comes back into supply again.

if unsupplied units were allowed to roam behind the lines they could cut key rail lines and leave massive amounts of enemy units without supply, pretty much ruining the game. the supply rule eliminates a lot of gamey-ness.

Hmm. Point. You are right. I've never thought about that.
