Can scenarios be converted from earlier versions?

Post by SMK-at-work »

I've found a few scenarios that interest me that are written for 1.07 but won't run on III. Can they be converted?

If by 1.07 you mean TOAW vol. 1 patched up to 1.07, you'll have to convert then to CoW 1.04 before and then convert them to TOAW III. There's no direct conversion process from TOAW vol. 1 to TOAW III.

Hope it helps.

Not really!! :(  I have TOAW II, but not COW - would that do, and if so, how do I do it?

No. Best bet would be to post the scenarios you want to convert, you'll most probably get someone convert them to CoW and then to TOAW III.
Or you can send them my way and I'll gladly do it (use the email function in my profile) but you'll have to wait a bit: it's 1:35 AM here and I'm off to bed [>:][>:][;)]

P.S. Be aware that raw conversion from TOAW 1 to TOAW III will probably need a bit of altering in the scenario editor to have the scens work properly, as some parameters work quite differently in both versions - can't remember which ones exactly right now but there's a thread somewhere dealing with that point...

The main thing is that you will need to slash the numbers of transport equipment.
"What did you read at university?"
"War Studies"
"War? Huh. What is it good for?"
"Absolutely nothing."

Thanks guys.  These scenarios or all pre-mech warfare ones - WW1, Russo-Jap War, etc., so hopefully there won't be too much transport equipment at all!! :)

I'm probably OK editing scenarios - done it with other games, but not TAOW yet.
