Release date ?

Gary Grigsby’s World at War is back with a whole new set of features. World at War: A World Divided still gives complete control over the production, research and military strategy for your side, but in this new updated version you’ll also be able to bring spies into the mix as well as neutral country diplomacy, variable political events and much more. Perhaps the largest item is the ability to play a special Soviet vs. Allies scenario that occurs after the end of World War II.

Yup, and where the heck are the screenshots ??? - vapourware ! - all Matrix ever does is announcing new games [:D]

Ok - now that the traditional initial opening posts are covered : "adding espionage, code-breaking, variable political events, unit experience and neutral country diplomacy." Looks like a welcome addition to the original WWII game, even if you don't care about the "Patton option" of taking on the Russians or the Cold War.

Screenshots can, like allways, be found on the respective page in the "Games" section [;)]

Note, they do not resemble the latest and greatest beta version of the game, for what reason ever.

Also, the full campaigns actually start in the Summer of 1939, not 1940. As for release date, sometime within three months would be very safe to say.

I've emailed David a few times before, so I'd assume I'm on the list?

Any chance of an alternate history scenario involving a victorious Germany and
Japan battling it out for total world domination? There was a board game that came out many years ago, called Red Sun Black Cross that explored this topic. The world was divided beteween the two and the battle began. There can on be only one!

Hmmm. I was thinking of purchasing GGWAW....should I wait for this new promising-looking title instead? [&:]

Depends on how anxious you are to get into WaW/AWD and how much money you have. WaW is a somewhat simpler game than AWD and is a nice place to start to learn the basic system, and most of what you learn will come in very handy in AWD. We think WaW is a great game by itself. Of course, after spending another 6+ months on AWD, we think it is even better than WaW. If your budget is limited and you can wait, you might want to wait until AWD. If you're ready to play WaW now and aren't sure you want to play the slightly more complex/realistic AWD, then you might want to go ahead and buy WaW now.

Now this is my own opinion and does not reflect Matrix's opinion (I don't know what their opinion is although I'm sure we'd both be happy if you bought both). [:)]

cant wait to have a copy of this game, it looks so promising!!
what a pity that we have to wait for three months until the game release ...
god knows when the game will reach the shelves in Hong Kong ... (of course i can choose digital download instead ... but i like to buy the box version, it just feels better ...)

I didn't say 3 months, I said within 3 months. We hope it will be much sooner.

Will it be released in stores in a boxed version like WAW with a printed rulebook, etc. - or will it just be available for order online like some of the other matrix games?
