Slider Suggestions for Historical ERAs..

Post by HitmanTerp »

I am sure this has probably been posted a million times but could someone offer slider suggestions for the various historical eras?

For example, I played with the default engine the 1977 season.. It was close but not close enough.. Pitcher ERA's too low and so were batting averages.. Rod Carew hit .388 that year, in my season he didnt even hit .288

Help!!

Thanks

I think you just have to figure it out.  For example, in the late 60's the league BA is way high, about 20 pts over norm.  And HR leaders are usually in the 55-60 range.  So I have to tweak each down considerably.

Lots of things are within 'spec', I guess.  The only thing that I've never seen get correct is 'Caught Stealing'.  The successful steals are usually about right, but CS is usually 50% of norm.  Meaning that not enough attempts are being made and catcher arms have to generally get a bit better.

Anyhow, what I'd suggest is backing up your assn, setting your team to CPU control and quick simming a season.  Then check the season league stats for totals and figure your adjustments from that.
