Review @ Out of Eight

A brand new campaign-based 3D tactical engine covering combat in World War II, from the developers at Koios Works. The first operation covered is the famous "Wintergewitter" or Winter Storm, a desperate attempt by Hoth's 57th Panzer Korps to break through to the encircled 6th Armee at Stalingrad and the Soviet counter-attack by 2nd Guards Army that drove them back.

Not a bad review (6/8), but not one that would encourage me to buy the game. Any one want to dispute his major criticism about lack of more scenarios and maps?

My old Piczo site seems to be gone, so no more Navajo Nation pics :(

Hmm, I'm not really fond of the comparison with RTS kind of graphics like in "Rush for Berlin".It is simply not possible to compare them. If we had more ressources left cause we don't need an AI (as in RfB) then we could make everything way prettier and then also these kind of games normally have a rather restricted camera, which allows for more gliz too.

One needs to understand also that Winter especially in that flat area of Russia simply does not look really exciting [;)].
The trees can be improved, and they will for the next sequel, I agree on that.

Well there is a scenario editor available now. Big [:D]

It does look a bit samey each mission. But then if you buy a game called Winter Storm then what can you expect.

The amount of missions does seem a bit tight for a full priced game, but it still a great laugh.
