-Any explanation? There were about 10 ships in harbour, but it seems that torpedoes were used against runways and parked aircraft???????

Where the Nells set for Naval primary and Airfield secondary? If so there is a known bug that causes this that I think is being addressed in the next patch.

I personally refer to this as the McHale-san's Navy bug.  The planes drop their ordinance in the port in such a way that they will run up the beach and across the berm onto the airfield before detonating.  (The berm is required as it gets used as a ramp for the torpedo to jump up from so that it will hit the ground nose first and detonate.)  [:'(]
