No the Troops really do love me, despite my seemingly never ending diminishing of their ranks......also for Christmas (now just days away)....I'm planning on sending chocolate Santas to the trenches....that should raise morale....despite the lack of food/fuel/ammo.......

21st December 1941....

The Japanese are making an early move on Java......the 21st division has landed at Kragen.
I had anticipated this...but not quite so soon......
Kragen is mined.....1 AP hit one of the 200+ mines........
Kragen has about 100 AP and a dutch naval base force coastal guns also hit one transport........
Most air attacks failed to find the enemy fleet....despite clear weather/lots of air recon and about 30 Jap. ships in harbour.....
But my TBS did hit another 3 transports.......
The Japs. managed to get about 1/4 of the 21st ashore......If i can stop more than half getting ashore...I can hurt them....
the 6th Dutch Inf. Reg. is marching to Kragen from the south.....
The 4th from the north.......
and we are both rushing ships in to the area....see map below.

Also I am thinking about taking Hanoi...as the 21st is from there......I know this triggers some Indo-Chinese troops.....has anybody done this....and if so what is the risk/reward ratio?

Top Secret Base in New Zealand:

The Penguin is conducting a top secret meeting with his oposite number, code named Koala.



The Koala was briefing The Penguin on the previous days battle over Pearl Harbor.
"We shot down 14 Betties"
"Very good. An air victory to offset our numerous land defeats."
"On another positive note. Our light cruisers hit the captured port of Noumea. We suffered hight causalties, while the Nips suffered an estamated over 250 killed and missing."
"What do you have in mind for a surprise?"
"The 3rd Austalian Tank Brigade is on its way."

Dec 23rd 1941..........
Hong Kong fell today.......
But the highlight/lowlight of this day was my complete balls up of my Malaya evac........
I hold up my flipper and admit it is all my fault......
I rushed into this op trying to tie it in with sneaking out the wreck that was Repulse....whcih was effectively sunk turn 1.....by rushing I didn't wait for the firestorm(jap air power) to pass......
The upshot is that I lost 20+AKs and the best part of two Indian brigades off northern Malaya....
The survivors have swum ashore just in time to go into POW camps......
This has sped up the fall of Malaya and also achieved nothing for the defense of India.....
and it may get worse next turn as a Jap. SAG(3BBs+escots) is closing on my small Air Combat group....I doubt the Hermes, Revenge and escorts will fare well........

That being said the troops still love me......as they walk into POW camps in their oil soaked rags, my name is often being mentioned.

In a war where one side(Jap) is receiving all the glory. There will be times for great valor. Our great navy, if only PT boats [:'(] turned back an invassion of Hilo, yes you heard that right. The Jap are trying to knock out Hawaii. After they took out Kona. [:-][X(][:-] KB has been seen heading in a Western direction past Pearl.

Wow, a very long update. [X(]   sorry about the long time. [:(] I decided to go back to school for my masters. The date is Feb 1st 1942, and the 40th US Div has been giving temporary stand down orders after their retaking of Christmas Island.[:'(] This might not last long as baby KB has decided to show up off the coast. [:@]
