Not much more to report. The two AKs intercepted yesterday must have sunk, since they were nowhere to be found today. Also the patrol craft that was escorting them was sunk today by Hudsons out of Darwin. The remainder of the fronts remain essentially the same.
Allied command is wondering which challenge to tackle next. On one side our Australian allies demand to have the Japs pushed out of Oz; at least out of Cairns, and request US reinforcements to do so. FDR has promised help, and consideration is being given to sending the Americal Division over. On the other hand, the Dept of the Navy wants to retake Espiritu Santo, and demands resources to do so.
Meanwhile, the British would like help in holding on to India, where they are being pressed on the Burma front. How to send help, and what to send remains the question.

I think the Brits can hold there own for the time being. Oz and the South Pacific would be a greater concern for me. Operations are being launched that may help you decide.

The Akagi has finished repairs and refit and will be joining her counter parts soon. The IJN has consolidated the ships needed for the next round of operation which have just kicked off.

BBC World Service. Here is the news.
Here are the words of our prime minister.
After occupying almost all of Asia, the enemy forces have been stopped at Inphal, at the door of India. They have taken all of the Dutch East Indies, and have occupied minor ports in North Australia.
Now the enemy dictator has taken a bold step. For many days our intelligence has suspected that a large attack was in the making. We suspected an enemy move towards Australia. The actual location of their strike was unknown. Whatever precautions could be taken, were taken. The US has been persuaded to send two divisions and supporting forces to the Australian continent.
We now know where the enemy strike has fallen. The fine city of Darwin, our last bastion in the north is now under attack. An enemy pincer movement is being attempted from Wyndham further west.
My colleague, the prime minister of the dominion has assured me that the Australian people will fight them. They will fight them on the beaches, on the roads, they will never surrender. And neither will we
