naval combat crazy?

Post by Iñaki Harrizabalagatar »

Hi all
I am playing Sea Lion 40 PBEM and I have experienced some rather crazy results in naval battles, like battleships and heavy cruisers sunk by destroyers with some air support, anybody else experienced something similar?

That's the way it should work out, if the attacks are conducted against units in the distance hexes, or in adjacent hex direct attacks. Read the notes for details.

Naval warfare in TOAW is always dodgy anyway. The best method is to pick the weakest naval unit and order it to make a direct attack whilst all other units stand by in bombardment range to offer passive support.

Of course, that latter part won't work with distance hexes.
"What did you read at university?"
"War Studies"
"War? Huh. What is it good for?"
"Absolutely nothing."
