I don't think so

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

I don't think so

As excited as I would like to be about an American Civil War take on the Crown of Glory--I can't help but feel that a promise has been broken by this crowd. We've been waiting for patch 1.2 for quite some time and at this point I don't think it is coming. Now they've announced a sequel, but haven't even demonstrated the organization or ability to support the game that is already out.

I own about 75 percent of the games in the Matrix catalogue--and while patches have been a little slow to come for a few of them, Crown of Glory seems utterly abandoned.

Seriously--you guys need to finish the job before begining the next one. How long does it take? I've read posts by the developers that say the patch is just around the corner--with some minor detail or other being the only obstacle, and yet the patch never comes.

CoG has not been abandoned. The official v1.2 update is indeed coming. We've spent the last week working on the final integrated installer as this update not only includes a bunch of improvements, but also includes full localization in multiple languages and unifies the US and International releases of CoG. I realize the wait has been long, though we did make some of the beta updates available, but it's almost ready.

Regards,

Thanks for the update Erik - looking forward to the patch.

Some day in the not too distant future, I am hoping you will consider releasing an "Expansion" CoG module download that contains some of the features I am hearing about in FoF, for CoG, as well as maybe detailed naval battle included.

Hey, I'd pay another $11.95 for it [:)]

Original Poster here,

If I see that 1.02 patch for Crown of Glory, then I will pick up a copy of the sequel. I certainly don't expect perfection, it just seems like a long time ago that we were told the patch was virtually finished with only the installer holding it back.

Its not about money for me, its more about the prinipal of the thing. I really like the design of COG, I just want to feel like the sequel will be supported if I am going to support it.

So, Patch 1.02 for COG equals my purchase of the sequel.
