12-19-41

AK Hai Lee goes down (please pause 4 a moment of silence).

Japanese air units are hard @ work today.

Georgetown gets hit 3 times from Singora and Alor Star - a little softening up here.

Kuantan gets hit twice from Singora in an attempt to get some enemy air units on the ground.

Manila takes a pounding from Takao air units. So too does Clark and Wenchow.

Changsha gets a little luv from Hangkow and Wuchow gets some attention from Canton.

Tavoy sees air units from Bangkok and Singapore gets a little attention from Khota Bharu.

Tarakan in Borneo falls to Imperial units. 10:1 odds result in 34 Japanes casualties to the Allies 340. The Tarakan Coastal Defense surrenders. VII KNIL Battery, 2nd NELAF Base Force, and the 81st Reserve units retreat.

Baguio in the Philippines receives a shock attack resulting in 7:1 odds. The allied 71st Reserve retreats the field - losses for the day are heavy tho - 1006 casualties for Japan to the Allies 137.

Georgetown in Malaya also falls today. 8:1 odds and the fort reduced to 2 result in lopsided casulty figures of 17 Japanese to 3,292 Allied as Penang Fortress surrenders.

More TFs leave Japanese controlled waters to assault allied bases as Japan asserts its right to a modified version of America's Monroe Doctrine. [8D]

Japanese strategists have come to the conclusion that the only real way to force the American Government to back off and sue to end the war is to cut off the flow of funds from the American tax base, thus every effort will be made to increase activities in the Philippine Isles, killing the American forces before they can pay taxes... Yeah, I'll admit, not a lot happened there. It probably didn't even interupt tea time. There is a method 2 the madness tho. Next time we expect all of your troops to stand on the runway in the mistaken belief that the safest to stand place to stand is on the target... Then I let my Japanese bombers put back on their glasses... [:D][:D][:D]

I new you'd have to toot about this - lol. Yup, I boldy marched my forces over there and then was promptly spanked when I attempted an assault. This of course is your counter attack. Very good job Scott.

So it's 12-27-41 and much is happening.

I was having a few problems @ Singapore due to poor fighter support. I think I've addressed that and plan to bomb that air field into swiss cheese. I'm also continuing to pound Manila and Clark while ground forces advance...

KB is boldly heading back to PH to put paid to Scotts BBs. I *was* pretty sure

Allied forces did a deliberate attack here last turn (which Scott fails to note above when he forced me out of Lucena)
and I spanked him pretty good. Of course that was a counter to my D. Atk the turn previous to that when his forces
spanked me pretty good... [:D][:D][:D] Just keeping it real. I went in with an INF unit thinking I was all that and he promptly showed me the benefits of having proper support, proper supplies, and that I should avoid when possible to get a swelled head... [:'(]

And here is KB on 12-26-41 near PH. I was trying to celebrate Cristmas with Scott in Hawaii (Christmas in Hawaii is so cool!) but arrived a day late (I'll blame it on the weather). [:D][:D][:D]

Of course now that one of my CVs has a hole in it's flight deck I'm beginning to re-think what Christmas is all about. Based on that hole in the Zuikaku I can now see that the true joy of Chistmas is in the giving - not the receiving... [:D][:D][:D]

Defeated Allied Units Retreating!
----------------------------------------------------------------

So Japan is currently pushing hard in Malaya - Singapore, Johore Bahru, and Mersing are left and the Imperial Japanese Forces are knocking on the door. Heavy strategic bombing of Singapore is intended to reduce supplies and disrupt enemy forces for the final push.

In the PI Japanese forces are closing in on Manila.

The 2nd strike of KB @ PH has really put a krimp in my air reserves. I used to have pilots. [:(][:(]

Operations in Borneo are going well with half of the bases in Japanese control.

China is a mess but Japanese troops are starting to reach their deployment positions. In a few locations Japanese units are begining to push back the Chinese. Strategic bombing in China does not seem to be going well tho. I'm wondering if it's actually the pilot skill levels (that are average) or if it's the Lilys they are flying.

Sucks

Your bombers are to high. Optimum height for level bombing is 6,000 feet. The lower you go the worse the flak but flak is not a major killer unless you are a dive bomber (you attack from 2,000 feet regardless of the height you set, so always set high).

Try different height and see if it makes a difference. Below 6,000 feet you start to bomb worse for level bombers unless you are skip bombing against ships.
