Crown of Glory Patch v1.10

Why, after buying C of G from Play.com and installing it with the serial number on the back of the booklet can I not install patch v1.10 with the same serial number?

(I'm posting this here as the C of G forum is unable to help me as this is a Matrix problem not the developers, I also sent an Email on Friday afternoon but no reply yet)

Hi, you have purchased the version published by blackbean Games. You should contact them for support in this regard.

But most likely it is because the version published by blackbean is allready at v1.10, the old patch installers do not accept the new sets of serial numbers.


You can check the version number when the game loads. It is printed in green letters in the bottom right corner during the load of the game data.

Got you, that makes sense.

You should hook up with whomever answers your emails -

"You will need to contact Play.com to resolve any problems you may be experiencing, if it is a serial number issue you may want to return the game and purchase a new one as that serial number may have been duplicated or pirated, thanks."

I've answered that before I saw your post so if you wouldnt mind ignoring my rather snotty reply to support@matrixgames.com I would be grateful.

Yes I did, I still have the e-mail if you want a copy.

That makes no sense, as I bough tthe game from Amazon, installed it and the serial number and then played the game.

10 minutes afer installing the game i downloaded the patch and the serial number would now not work.

My version in green is 1.2.?.? so does this mean the patch is wrong being at 1.10?

None of this makes any real sense!

The Black Bean version is 1.2.25, I believe.  My understanding is that they use separate serial numbers than Matrix does, so that future patches will be issued both through Matrix and through Black Bean.  Presently, Black Bean uses the most current version (a version that will hopefully shortly be available as a patch on Matrix as well.)
