Please Sir, can I have some more?

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Please Sir, can I have some more?

Post by goodboyladdie »

Hi HS

May we have some more sneakypeak screenshots again soon, please? I don't know about anybody else, but I need a fix!

How do I put a picture thingy on the side of my posts like what all the big boys do?

Wellllllll

one hassle is we still in the middle of all the UI work, so it kind of messy, while it all gets sorted and put into place, and then artwork is basicly placeholders, until the UI is finished (then the Artwork can begin)

soooo, let me play around a little bit and see if there some shots I Can show, that do not make it look bad and out of sorts

for the side art thingy

go to you profile and click on edit profile, then go down the list, there should be a area for Avatars and banners and what not, my profile has a bug in it, so I can not set up any myself

I would like to list some of my betas

Thanks very much for that. Much appreciated. I will watch this space (with bated breath). I am sure you realise from all the interest how eagerly anticipated this release is. Thanks very much for all the hard work you and the team are doing.

Thank you Sir

we are doing what we can to get it done and out (hey, I want to play it too)

(to be honest, I think we could make a movie about how this game came about, in the long run, it would be pretty boring, but there would be a lot of interesting things going on)

ran a little test run to see if there was anything I could show right now, with out getting my programmers upset

had a nice little run in BoB, did a little decoy run with the Stukas and heavy 109s for cover, worked out great, the 109s defended well and the Stukas hit the radar site and turned for home, then the main raid popped up, drawing off most of the incomeing GB fighters, and all was good in the world, and then the 109s ran out of gas and headed for home and canes had a field day with my Stukas, knocking down 14 of them

ahhh best laid plans and all :)

but will get something to show shortly

maybe I can do a baby mini AAR, was running some tests, to see how it was going

BoB 1940, plotted a few raids, more to get some GB into the air then for any main reason

went to Manston, Biggen Hill, a CFAC and AFAC in the south, sent out a sweep or two and rested the rest

looks like I only sent out around 1000 planes this first day

results were not too bad, the two Facs took a pounding

it is the 2nd day, that I may get busy and go to work with some kind of idea of what I want to do, naw

which of course, means I didn't save the end of turn when I ran the tests, but had the before turn

so added another raid to the battle and moved some units

overall not a bad first day

took out Kenley (51) but missed Biggen Hill, Manston went down too (52)

but got the CFAC and the AFAC, which neither by itself is a big deal either way, but if I can knock out the other Big CFAC in the area, that may cause a little headache

ahh, 51-52 damage in the morning, means there are not even damaged by now, oh well

the 110s on Sweeps got 18 planes on the ground, so a good day for the Terrible Twins

FC did a good job on my bombers, and over all, a little disappointed in my fighters (need to send in the Fat Man to have a little talk to the boys)

Recon is nice, they take lots of snaps, just keep the enemy fighters away from them

Still need to touch up the pilot Exp levels and what not for BoB, mainly lower some of the GE (other then a few of the Uber BoB pilots, Galland, Moulder and Wick) and raise up some of the English

(ahhh, if you notice, I have not been showing map shots or full screen shots, there are reason, the art is not done yet)

day two, simi heavy cloud cover, but only on the edges, so will gamble with some later missions towards the middle of the map

not sure about the losses this day, the English did fly into a buzzsaw, and this time around, either went for the fighers or got hit by the fighters before they got to the bombers

ahhhh, sent out Stab JG26 instead of III JG26, mutter, lost one in air and another one crashed, the 3 one was shot up pretty good, the Stab may be out of action for a few days

2nd CFAC went down, now it may be interesting (but for testing may be good, can see how the game handles this on the GB side)

got a OILR, but only damaged the OILS

ahhh, another 52% on a Prime AF, but not many planes there, so they have been moved

keep em moving and out of the way, makes it easier to bomb

Odd combat results, did not see anything "bad" or "wrong" with the GB attacks, just a lot of GE planes were damaged, that made the trip home, I expected a lot more to crash on the way or on landing, maybe a bad die roll day

hmmm, maybe it is time to go for the throat, I think the AI while not hurt, will be moving and shifting forces, so his response on the next turn my not be the best, so time to hammer

if the weather agrees

Odd, alot of those AI pilots are pretty good, need to check the units and see if anything is set up wrong

I stopped the test, I think I found something I want to get changed, not a bug persay, but a setting

also having some debates about how the game was set up vs how I Think it should be running

of course, nothing some work won't fix

which of course after doing that snap, I decided to plot some night raids, oh well

the basic idea is there

oh my, got my head handed to me today, a FW Gruppen got 5 and 4 Bostons in two passes and then worked over the excort

seen W Galland get 2 kills, but Priller went down

raid number 11 worked out pretty good, a lot of Stangs dropping bombs, and then Spits followed, took out a lot of AA guns, and even had a few GE planes crashed when they came home, after ripping apart my poor bostons
