Probably not, or they'd have done so a long time ago...
I don't know how Don and Joe feel about it, but I wouldn't touch the database with your pastry, T. Can you imagine the outcry from - shall we say - "various quarters" over any change you might make, no matter how small? "WHAT? You can't do that! The (choose one) []Allies []Japanese are already getting skrewed!"

While we're at it, how many different databases (including yours) do you think there are by now? Have we gotten to the point yet where nobody can play anybody else because there are no longer any common versions of the game?

More, to what degree is anything you say about the game on the forums relevant now? "Well, you have to do A in order to accomplish B, but that's under mod X with map Y and house rules Z, patch version _.__."

I think WitP has passed from the realm of "gaming" into the same category as "crochet" or "needlepoint." "Nitpick one, Pearl Harbor two."

I particularly like the threads that instantly pop up when a new game project is announced: "Wow! Sounds like a great game! How will I be able to modify it?"

Personally, I think just one single thing needs to be fixed in the database, and that's turning the Japanese Type 13 radar from surface search to air search. That's it.

Other than that, Pasternakski and I agree: there'd be a neverending sh*tstorm if anything else was done. The thing is, they've done it before with patch 1.60, so I can't figure out why this is such a big hurdle to climb over...

Some attributes of aircraft, etc might be a little bit subjective however all Japanese CAs have 5 inches of IMAGINARY armor on their turrets as things stand now. Stuff like that ought to be fixed in the stock database.

It is not a bug, it is a feature. It is for those who like alternative history.[:D]

Do we get any improvements in the AI I wonder!
Does anyone know what this upgrade will bring?

Presumably Don&Joe do.

Shoot, I've got five inches of imaginary armor on my ego. And I don't want anybody to fix it.
