Game date is 12th of July 1944

India & Burma

Most of my troops still have fatigue in 40's and 50's and thus I'am still resting them.

More supplies is also enroute towards Rangoon and those guys at Moulmein.

RAF has continued to bombard the airfield and FDR still has a lot supplies to be burnt!

Hanoi HI was also struck by RAF. I have now pretty much destroyed the HI there so I propably will abandon this operation soon.

China

Bad weather prevented my airstrikes here last turn.

Central & North Pacific

I'am loading massive amount of troops at Pearl Harbour. These guys will embark to Marshalls as soon as they are ready. This 100 ship convoy will have allied  CV fleet as an escort.

Australia, NZ & South Pacific

Allied transport ships are also loading at Darwin. Once this is done they will launch an invasion at Timor. This operation is somewhat risky since it has only LBA support available.

Kusile atoll will also be invaded soon. I have sent some transport ships to Nauru Island and once those troops are loaded they will capture Kusile itself.

US Heavy bombers are now focusing on Kwaleijin...

Day Air attack on Kwajalein , at 79,79

Allied aircraft
P-40N Warhawk x 74
P-47C Thunderbolt x 48
B-24J Liberator x 243

No Allied losses

Japanese ground losses:
85 casualties reported
Guns lost 3

Airbase hits 31
Airbase supply hits 11
Runway hits 220

A lot of things are in motion so we should have quite a few combat reports shortly.

Welcome to the forums and thank you for the kind words. [:)] If I would be native english speaker than the story would be even more detailed. I also read the Witp forums before registering. (Wobbly vs PzB, etc) It has been fun writing this AAR and once we are finished with this one than it is a good way to look back what has happened.

Well, the game has temporarily slowed a bit. FDR has been busy IRL but the normal service will resume shortly. There is still a lot of game days left in this operation.

Here is a glimpse of what can be expected....

* The infantry units will start heading towards Marshalls and will begin offensive againts Kwaleijin as soon as possible.

* The Battle of Burma has commenced. He has a lot troops in Moulmein and I need to deal with this somehow. Hopefully I can win via frontal assault if not than I will withdraw a large number of these troops and do an amphibitious deeper into Japanese terrotory.

* The Battle of Timor will commence soon. This is actually the only battle I can afford to "lose". Operation will have only LBA support.

* The combined Allied CV Fleet will move into Marshalls too. The KB must be near Marianas or Wake Island. So, this massive CV vs CV battle is still ahead.

* I will receive additional B29's and other bombers soon. This means more furious and flexible bombing runs in forthcoming days.

Among other operations.... Stay tuned [:)]

FDR is still busy moving into new house but we managed to get a turn done yesterday. This game will gather pace within a week or so.

Game date is 14th July 1944

India & Burma

Next turn the ground offensive againts Moulmein will begin. My troops are not rested enough but I simply cannot wait longer. Depending on this result I will evaluate the situation here and make plans accordingly.

Those RAF bombers that were targeting Hanoi HI will now be moved to bomb ground units in Moulmein. Hopefully I can dislodge the huge enemy force.

Day Air attack on Moulmein , at 29,35

Allied aircraft
Spitfire Vb x 19
Spitfire VIII x 30
Kittyhawk III x 12
Thunderbolt II x 9
Liberator VI x 109
Mosquito FB.VI x 10
B-25J Mitchell x 77

Allied aircraft losses
Liberator VI: 4 damaged
B-25J Mitchell: 2 damaged

Japanese ground losses:
385 casualties reported
Guns lost 5

Airbase hits 23
Airbase supply hits 6
Runway hits 124

China

A bad weather prevented B29 raids yet again. Hopefully It will get better next turn.

Central & North Pacific

The 60 000 US troops at Pearl Harbour are almost loaded into transport ships. This TF should sail towards Marshalls next turn with Allied CV armada escorting it.

Australia, NZ & South Pacific

US BB TF raided Kwaleijin last turn and met stiff resistance from Japanese artillery.

Naval bombardment of Kwajalein, at 79,79 - Coastal Guns Fire Back!

13 Coastal gun shots fired in defense.
Allied Ships
CL Raleigh
CL Richmond
CA Wichita
BB West Virginia
BB Colorado, Shell hits 6
BB Maryland

Japanese ground losses:
257 casualties reported
Guns lost 5

The sys damage is that 10's and 3 DD's actually hit an enemy minefield in the area.

In Darwin allied troops are loaded and set their course towards Lautem in Timor. This operation has + 30 000 involved. Hopefully he does not have sizeable garrison there and the base can be overrrun quickly.

Currently at Darwin there 2000 assault points worth of infantry in reserve. (The problem here is lack of allied transport shipping)

Intresting days ahead in this one [:)]

If FDR will not withdraw his forces towards Malaya than I will conduct another landing in his rear within a month or twoi. That is not an small landing either. Propably between 4-6 divisions will be landed propably into Tavoy where there is still 8 enemy units garrisoning that base.

Allied Navy will be docked in Marshalls very soon. I considering another raid on Truk just to neutralize his LBA forces in the area. I haven't decieded on this though.

Heavy airstrike is scheduled though again Lunga next turn. B29's will join the assault from Cairns.

Lautem has also fallen. So now I do have an foothold on Timor. I have move 2 fighter squadrons there. (Kittyhawk III and Corsairs) I will conduct a propably another landing at Koepang soon too. Thus giving 2 airfields which can support and defend each other.

I have also decieded to ask whether FDR is actually intrested in starting another PBEM alongside this. (Using NIK mod) I think it is fair to ask him first (after Pauk) since this "mess" is not made up by him. So let see what he think. I know he is really busy currently but It would not need to be a fast paced PBEM [;)]

Game date is 24th of July 1944

India & Burma

Moulmein is againt targeted by Royal Navy and RAF. Add the massive ground bombardments and there you have it. I want to deliver a blow to his Burma army so that my advance towards Malaya can begin in force.

These bombings should take it toll soon since he suffering supply hits and a lot of men on his side are getting killed.

Royal Navy have now organized 2nd BB TF at Chandspur. This TF has been ordered to bombard Moulmein too.

China

Since I withdrew by LBA bombers to Burma and India my supply levels are now slowly rising. (Burma road open and massive airlifts from India)

Central & North Pacific

CV Randolph has now arrived at Pearl Harbour.

Australia, NZ & South Pacific

Kwaleijin and Lunga are bombed heavily.

Day Air attack on Lunga , at 67,97

Allied aircraft
PB4Y Liberator x 109

No Allied losses

Japanese ground losses:
44 casualties reported

Airbase hits 5
Airbase supply hits 2
Runway hits 123

My CV and BB fleet arrived safely to Marshalls. They are now set to replenish before joining up in offensive action.

Huge allied transport TF is just 180 miles away from Majuro. It contains around 50 000 men.

I have given orders to start the invasion at Kisale Atoll near Ponape.

Allied troops are also gaining more foothold on Lautem. Corsairs manage to stop small enemy airstrike here. Those Japanese planes flew from Kendari.

A lot of things are brewing around the Pacific.

Game date is 26th of July 1944

India & Burma

RAF, RN and Allied ground troops continue to bombard enemy positions at Moulmein.

Day Air attack on 55th Division, at 29,35

Allied aircraft
Thunderbolt II x 18
B-24J Liberator x 53
B-29 Superfortress x 138

Allied aircraft losses
B-29 Superfortress: 3 damaged

Japanese ground losses:
494 casualties reported
Guns lost 12

The order have issued to try an another delibarate assault next turn.

2 BB TF along with bulk RAF bombers are supporting this assault.

China

I'am waiting for supply levels to get better before even thinking about any ground offensives here.

Central & North Pacific

US Submarine was bombed by Judy's North of Marcus Island. I think this assault was not land based so it could be that KB is on the move. Question is though where is he heading?

I have ordered my bombers around CenPac on naval strikes!

Australia, NZ & South Pacific

The invasion Kusaie atoll will commence next turn. Allied ships are 120 miles away now.

Kwaleijin and Lunga are heavily bombed by US Airforce.

Day Air attack on Lunga , at 67,97

Allied aircraft
B-29 Superfortress x 146

No Allied losses

Japanese ground losses:
44 casualties reported

Airbase hits 7
Airbase supply hits 4
Runway hits 188

The B29's will rest a turn or two and then hit Port Moresby from Cairns. P39's will provide fighter escort.

Allied CV & BB fleet is now replenished at Majuro. Troops are loading for Kwaleijin and this invasion will begin soon!

Lautem has now more than 100 aviation support available. Thus I have ordered an airstrike againts Kendari. Fighters will escort from Lautem and 4E bombers will fly from Darwin.

Troops are also loading at the moment in Northern Oz. These men are ordered to capture Koepang in Timor.

As you can see a lot of things are now happening simultaneously. I still think I should raid Truk and destroy Japanese airpower in this area. Either with CV's or using Ponape as LBA airfield. (This base had not yet been captured though)

This was to supress enemys airforce ability to conduct any significant operations.

Green light has been given on invasion at Koepang. These ships have now sailed from Darwin.

Kwaleijin and Lunga were also bombed again. Unfortunately weather prevented the airstrike on Port Moresby. (Scheduled next turn again)

The battle of Kwaleijin will commence very soon.

A lot of action reported all around the pacific last turn.

Game date is 30th of July 1944

India & Burma

The battle of Moulmein rages on. RAF and RN combined strikes reported with heavy enemy casualties on the ground.

The ZOC in Witp needs to be tweaked! This ridicilious assault happened when I was bringing in reinforcements to Moulmein!

Kwaleijin was bombed heavily too. The invasion will begin within next couple of turns.

Allied CV and BB armada is supporting these landings. So, I have decieded not to withdraw my naval assets from this area despite the CVE sighting. I'am confident that my LBA's will hold their own for now at least.

Here is the screenshot and you can see where that Japanese CVE is...
