Working with H3 3.6.x but not with 3.7 ANW

Hi,

I'm an owner of Harpoon 3 since 3.6.1.2 release and I didn't have any video card problem. Also I updated to 3.6.3 and it was working fine.

Recently I have bought the update Harpoon 3 ANW 3.7 and I cannot play to it. A message is shown with the following:

"Unsupported color depth
Can't continue. Something seriously wrong with the graphics (out of date video drivers?).
Display interface could not be created. Please check your video device driver, or video mode in the INI file."



Currently I have both release installed, H3 3.6.3 and H3 ANW 3.7, and the only that I can play is to H3 3.6.3, the old one. The SVGA video mode in both is the same, 101, 640x480x256.

Oppppssss. Sorry, I was to fast. Here you can find my video card configuration screenshot.

Strange problem, since I can play to the old version.

Please, does anyone knows how to solve that problem?

Well, it seems that the problem is still there with 3.7.3.
I tried to change all the video settings in both H3 ANW ini file and in my laptop without success. Look at the image to see the error. Once the last line of commands are displayed the window close automatically.

My video adapter is a ATI Radeo IGP 320, with a shared memory of 128 MB. The driver is from 20th of January, 2003, and it cannot be upgraded. I tried with an official driver from Omega, but my resolution (1280 x 854) was not supported.

Any ideas? Still I don't understand how I can play to 3.6.x and not to 3.7.x. Back to downgrade again...

Have you tried using some of the intermediate settings in the Harpoon 3 Launcher such as 1024 x 768? Also see if you can use the slide bars in the Launcher (under the video settings) to see if your video card can accomodiate other custom display sizes. If that doens't work then please let me know and we'll see what we can do for you.

Hello Dale,

Finally!!!!! You were right!!!!! I tried to change the screen resolution without success (trying all of them, even the slide bars). However I tried to uncheck "Run in Windowed Mode" and now it works!!!

Thank you very much for your patience, now I can play to H3 ANW. Actually I have installed 3.8.0 RC5.
