Ready, Sim, Immediate Injury

Post by SittingDuck »

Well, I've had this ever since I've played the game, to be honest. But it seems like quite often when I set up a sim session, say a week to a month, during the first game played one of my players will get hurt. I would say it happens 1/3 of the time when starting a sim session.

Just wondering if other people are getting this a lot.

I realize there are only like 5-7 other members who actually post, so I don't know how to define 'a lot of other players' here.

sd I had enough of the injury problem so I tweaked it in the xml. I dont have my comp with me with PS on it, but I reduced the numbers for players and pitchers by .02. I forgot what they were but I think they were like .94 and .96? I am almost positive it was reduced by .02 for both. Try it out.

Well, one thing I am checking is this - whether it occurs more frequently when I sim a custom length of games, or if I sim the default week or month via the week/month link.  Or if there is no difference.  At this point, it seems like the custom lengths get me.  But that could be seat-of-the-pants analysis.

SittingDuck, I sim custom lengths of games all of the time, and I haven't noticed any significant amount of time that I get an injury at the beginning of the sim.

I rarely fast sim or auto run my teams games.  However, a few weeks ago I set up a 2005 association using real players that I simmed a month and then a week at a time.  (no managing).  The human controlled team did not seem to have any more injuries than did the A-1 controlled teams and none were experienced as you described.

I haven't experienced any problems, and I have both quick simmed (a week at a time) as well as managed each game.

The few times I have simmed an extended number of games, I haven't noticed any extra injuries or anything. I actually usually seem to have a lot fewer when I sim chunks than when I watch every game.

Is Dusty Baker the manager of your team???  That could be the problem.  [:D]

Funny, but since I posted this I haven't encountered the issue.  [8|]  My field manager must have 'gotten the message'.

Why, oh why can't they keep this 'in house' and not have to use the media for communication??  lol
