RE: RHS Aztez (A) vs Nemo (J) - Allied perspective
It sounds like we propably wohn't agree on the continuing this one.
I should have much clearer with my style of play which is historically flavoured and Nemo like everything goes games.
Those issues seem collide and personally I don't have anything bad to say about Nemo nor do I carry any grudges.
But as it's stands out this game will in 95% certainty be finished.

RE: RHS Aztez (A) vs Nemo (J) - Allied perspective
while i can admit that landing on Johore Baru is very doubtful i just don't like the way discussion goes...
I had similar situation with Andy - he didn't told me before the start of the game he using picket ships and KB lost a month in ambush on sea route PH-WC. A whole month my mobile striking force was useless and i can assure you that if i only knew what will Andy do i wouldnt send KB there. Believe me, the whole war would have different course...
Picket ships is something which i consider gamey (please can we stay out of debate gamey/non gamey - no one will ever convince me that this is ok and american DDs at Okinawa etc....). So why i did mentioned the issue i had with Andy? (i have no unresolved issues with him and i continued the game without hard feelings because i want to enjoy in the game, not to win at any cost)
That's why... this is not only Nemo's specialities, this is a speciality of quite lot Allied players too. Not shooting at you Aztez or Andy but that's the way it is. I believe that even me (although i think that i'm self-restrain guy and often restrict my actions automatically if they are not in my historical book) sometimes just don't mention few things - if i mention them to my opponent, than i can not suprise him, right?[:)]
This is a game - and we all have to decide what we want: historical game, semi-historical or fantasy game. Than we have to found the right opponent.
If we choose historcal game, than at least 50 house rules would be needed, but not sure if that would be enough (just imagine this horror "making a house rules for historical game: HR no.1 KB wont stay for another day at PH.
no.1a. if no.1 occurs, than Allied CVs can bomb HI in first six months
no.2. no using SAA units for Pacific.
no.2a if Jap player using SAA units than Allies can use Aussie units outside Australia and PNG.... etc[:D])
If some one is interested i'm for semi-historical game[:)]

Nemo really has tendency to "exploit" the game mechanics at maxium"

Nice to see again Pauk! [:)] Finland did not won Icehockey worldchampionships as you promised! [;)][:@]
Anyway, we have just a diffrent views about what is historical and what is not. I would categorize myself as being semi-historical too. Allthoug self restraints should be shown by both players.
I think you are lucky to have a game againts Andy. Very nice and reliable person.
You are actually looking for an game??? (I think we had somekind of agreement on a game didn't we?)
Anyway, if this game goes to garbage can than I'am open for proposals. (I have time for 3 PBEM's and 2 of slots are firmly taken)
I do have anything bad to say about Nemo. We just have some diffrent views on things.

RE: RHS Aztez (A) vs Nemo (J) - Allied perspective
I think Nemo is a skilled opponent who wants to see if it is possible by using the existing game mechanics (too whatever degree) whether it is possible to take over the whole map area by the Japanese. Thus, he is using the game mechanics (turn one warp drive moves besides KB) to get to places the Japanese would never have gone or considered as they would have alerted the Americans and Pearl "hopefully" would have been prepared (LBA on patrol and BB's sortie to somewhere). Thus, he is looking for a fantasy game vs a more historical one. I hope this was the kind you wanted. However, I thought it was to test the RHS game system.
Personally, I think only those LCU's that have Prep points for a certain location already should be able to head in that direction early. But, that is just my opinion. [;)]

We decieded to call it quits. Propably the wisest thing to do considering all the view diffrences.
All the best for Nemo and I will keep following how his alternative strategies turn out in games vs Jutland.
As for me... Well the 2 Late years PBEM's ongoing. So those will keep me busy BUT I will have time to start 3rd PBEM (Allthough my better half might disagree with me on this).
Rob has been ranting so long about NIK Mod so that is something I would like to see. By the looks of things it seems that there is new version out too! (NIK 8.0)
Well IF Pauk is still looking for Semi-Historical game than PM or send an Email (If you still have the address)

Damn! I was sure that Finns would do it![;)]. And yes, i'm happy to have game against Andy. I followed his AAR vs String and saw that he is a nice person and good player. You put it well - it is hard to find someone with same views on the game (actually it is impossible unless you aren't play against yourself[:D]). The most important thing is discussion and goodwill between players to solve certain issues. I'm almost sure that there is some things done by me that Andy doesn't like too but he is generous almost as me[;)].
Unfortunatly i don't looking for game anymore - thought that you are playing only 2 day turns. RL crushes on my head and my 3rd game is in the question now (CHS/Niks mod)[:(]
But, as you stated that your other games will reach 1946, i would certainly like to play against you in the future.[:)]. Sometimes i just wish that i'm shameless rich ba*tard to have all the time in the world for WITP.

RE: RHS Aztez (A) vs Nemo (J) - Allied perspective
Yeah. I think we all want to rich!!! Not famous thóugh! [:D][:D][:D]
We will see whether we will square off someday. And as the game againts Andy Mac all I will say that I will be intresting one! [;)]
I actually offered another PBEM to FDR. I think that is fair since he picked up an game where the mess of Japanese side was not done by him. I will wait and see how he feels about it.
If FDR is too busy (He is since busy but...) than I will make a same offer to Dave! I still have payback to give him in our current game but wouldn't mind having another onslaught againts him! Allthough he might be kicking my butt in that one too!!! [:D][:D][:D]
As to please Rob [:D][;)] ...I'am definately going to try the NIK Mod. Too bad btw that he doesn't do Japanese since that would be quite intresting [;)] ....another good option would be againts Sardaukar but he still hasn't started PBEM. Fin vs Fin.
Anyway lets see what these guys think first. If none of them have the time than I'am open to challenges.

RE: RHS Aztez (A) vs Nemo (J) - Allied perspective
‚h‚Ž RHS there are no Beauforts? That sucks.......Nothing better than getting your Aussie Hudsons turned into them and finally you have a weapon that can at least threaten the IJN......
To quote from Evans/Peattie`s {Kaigun}

political and strategic mistakes live forever". The authors were refering to Japan but the same could be said of the US misadventure in Iraq

RE: RHS Aztez (A) vs Nemo (J) - Allied perspective
No. You will get Beauforts eventually. There was actually 1 squadron available. I was just saying that I could not get them nor move them to DEI as Nemo suggested (He thought I could put up an fight there early on with B25's and Beauforts). Well that is impossible if Blitzkrieg speed is fast towards DEI. No planes, No pools = suicide.
RE: RHS Aztez (A) vs Nemo (J) - Allied perspective
Will you be posting an AAR?

Well yes. But I was unable to find opponent for NIK 8.0 (unfortunately)
So me and Sardaukar agreed to use CHS + NIK mod.
I will be playing your mod againts the AI! Btw it looks very nice indeed!!!!

RE: RHS Aztez (A) vs Nemo (J) - Allied perspective
Thx.
It will be interesting to see if players continue to report outragious levels of Japanese aircraft or too few. [:D]

I will keep you informed if I find weird stuff on the AI game.
I will promise that one day you will see an AAR using this great mod. We agreed on a rematch with FDR one our game is done. Actually we will be using your mod for that.
