Widescreen support?

Gary Grigsby’s World at War is back with a whole new set of features. World at War: A World Divided still gives complete control over the production, research and military strategy for your side, but in this new updated version you’ll also be able to bring spies into the mix as well as neutral country diplomacy, variable political events and much more. Perhaps the largest item is the ability to play a special Soviet vs. Allies scenario that occurs after the end of World War II.

It's the same as WaW, which means I'm guessing the answer is no (you can play in windowed mode, but it's always going to show up in a 1024x768 window).

I appreciate the response, Joel. It's no big deal to me; windowed will work just fine. And I suspect implementing support for various resolutions would be a lot of work, which I'd rather see you invest in AI etc. Still, I suspect more and more of your user base is like me: moving to widescreen monitors, or playing on laptops which have widescreens to begin with.

I´m operating on a 17 inch flat screen and the details are fine, any bigger wouldn´t help to be honest.  This is not a graphics intensive game so it pretty much doesn´t matter.  The greater zoom out map ability does a good job of resolving the `Big Picture´ issue.

I don't care so much about screen space as avoiding the "horizontally stretched" look you get if there's no widescreen support. It's tolerable with a game like this; with a hex-based wargame, it's pretty icky, since the hexes look like long flat polygons.

Never had that problem, thanks for filling me in. I guess your Do-17s will be even longer than normal! lol! Shoot, if one of the guys gets his way with the long-barrelled tank graphic, I can´t even imagine, rail gun on tracks?!
Just out of curiosity here: I showed you my mine: 17 inch flat, now show me yours: 19, 21, 23 inch? Flat? TV? Normal monitor? Monster laptop? lol!

Hehe, OK, that's fair: mine is a 30-inch Dell 3007W! That's 30 inches along the diagonal. It's HUGE! I love it.

Simply set your monitor / graphic card drivers to stick to the aspect ratio of the application, no more stretching then [;)]
