What didn't get taken from the HUD-II???

Post by Bucks »

I don't like rants and raves so I wont instigate one myself. I wont accuse anyone of anything, but your own honesty would be appreciated.

I know Mr Emsoy's not guilty and Herman told me straight up what he'd done.

Now I'll ask a question.

Who took what from the HUD-II and why didn't you ask me if you could before you did?

I left an "easter egg" in my database before I left and someone has now hatched it....

So I'm looking in a certain direction and am hoping the basic Christian quality of honesty hasn't been lost.

Come clean and we can fix it, don't and I'll expose it. When I say come clean I mean publically don't PM me and hope that will fix this, I mean I already know who you are...

Thanks in Advance

Darren Buckley
Editor HUD-II/HUD3

PS No hard feelings but if you're going to take large chunks of my work you could at least give acknowledgment. Once this is out of the way I'll post the new one and we can ALL move forward TOGETHER.

I've discovered most people don't speak "strine" (Australian)

I don't want people to take this the wrong way so I'll be more specific.

I have no issue with anyone using stuff from my available databases.

On this condition

You don't profit $$$ from it.

So if you have a DB that's available that has HUD-II stuff in it and you don't make money from it you are as sweet as daisies (OK). If on the other hand you took stuff and profited from my work by "cutting and pasting" so to speak, then a simple acknowledgement will help to settle the matter.

Most (99%) of DB editors need not be concerned with this thread.

Thanks in advance

I know that I can speak on behalf of all those involved with the PlayersDB.

Without your efforts, and those of other editors like Brad Leyte (HCDB) Fred Galano (H3Db), and Rene Haar (HC-EuroDB), there would be NO PlayersDB.

Many thanks. [&o]

So Darren who's loading your gun[:)] as a it seems to be a typical Hermanesque stunt to draw attention.

PM the culprit and be done with it mate[:)]

I load my own M4A1 mate and if I can't get a Colt product then anything by Fabric National is good FN-90's my fav.

No stunt I looked at some aspects of one of the DB's that's floating around.

Herman HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS despite his reputation[:)]

Not after attention mate just want to see that we can all work together and there's not something else happening. I truthfully believe that an aspect of the HUD-II that's floating around has shown up in a "major" current database.

This aspect is incorrect and effects gameplay dramatically. I would imagine that the owner of this DB may want to discuss what is wrong and why it should be fixed. I have restored the correct values in the current version of the HUD3 that I'm working on and currently testing. (release pending)

I may have come across the wrong way and I apologise if I did but I've actually kept this bottled up since I discovered it when I returned. I suppose we will just have to wait and see. I don't expect to get an answer. That's the world today hmmmm.

Anyway everybody chill out and don't stress about it. I'll talk to the party concerned when the opportunity presents itself in the future.

Thanks

Darren

Compared to, say, the popular combat flight sim forums? [;)]

It's actually quite a laid back and friendly community overall, once you get to know which coral reefs to avoid. Quite a few froums etc. to choose and drop anchor in, and most of them helpful and quite calm. The simple fact we've had acquaintances and friendships through these hangouts for more than a decade in many cases is, I think, a rare and good sign [:)].
