Baseball History

Post by henry296 »

I've created a quick Excel file from 1950 to the present with the city moves, new stadiums and expansions by year. Is there any interest in this file?

If so, I can send it to someone to post on their website.

I think that is something Padsfan might want for his site.

You guys may want to check out BruceM's Baseball Chronology site. It tracks the historical changes in MLB from 1901 onwards, including team nickname changes, stadium changes, schedule changes, and so forth.

You can find the site here: http://www.brucem.net

Just hit the "View" link under the Baseball Chronology heading on the upper left to view the pages. Or, use the "Download" link if you want to download it.

Either way, it's worth checking out. And it might help avoid any duplication of work already done.

Thanks for that!  I want to change the stadium dimensions every year it is applicable and have dreaded sorting through various sources.  This should be great.

That's beautiful.  Much better than my little spreadsheet.
