Fairly new, looking for RHS Japanese opp

I am fairly new, only one aborted PBEM game before. I am looking to play as the Allies in RHS, even the EOS scen as that is perhaps a bit more interesting for the Japanese. I am solidly in the historical play camp and have no interest in being schooled by a power-gamer. I am open to whatever house rules seem fair, I really don't have enough experience to know off hand what is important. Some that seem good:
limiting ASW groups
limiting 2E->4E conversions, I would normally say PDU off, but I guess most Japanese players would balk
sub doctrine off for both sides

other than that just nothing that is outright gamey, especially with the first turn expoit.

I can usually managae a turn a day, sometimes more, sometime less.
