Adding unit to existing group with order/plan

Let say that Ive ordered a bunch of units to assault a objloc. It will take some time to get them into the FUP, and later I find a unit that I would like to add to the assault. (Before they left the FUP)

How do I add a unit to this group; without selecting all units, adding the new unit and issue a new order? Or is it the only way to select all units, and re-issue the order?

Short answer is you need to reissue orders. However, once you have formed a force group by issuing orders, then all you need do is select the boss of that force group, hold down the control key and click on the units you want to add, then reissue orders. That way you don't need to reselect all the units in the original force group, just the boss and the new ones.
