Hi I would be grateful help on agraphics issue. No Icons appear

Hi, I would be grateful for help on a graphics issue. The map is present but no icons and I get an error message on the lines of: color contrast cannot be maintained, drivers up to date?. My card is fairly old Nvidia 4 series but the drivers and direct X are up to date.

Incidentally I have the original harpoon 3 from advanced systems and that is fine. I really like this game and while content is nearly 100% of agood game another generation with improved graphics and interface would be welcome!
